SOURCE: Will a Husqvarna #1 Plus embroidery unit work on a Husqvarna Rose machine?

I am sorry to inform you that Husqvarna # 1 embroidery unit does not fit onto the Rose machine. The terminals on the Rose is upright, while on the H # 1 it is flat. If you want to do embroidery on the Rose, you will have to purchase the embroidery unit.

Sad but true

SOURCE: Husqvarna Model 6360 reverse button stuck

This problem comes about due to lack of useage usually. If the machine has been sitting for some time the grease inside hardens. The stitch length regulator, the pattern selector and the buttonhole mechanism could all be contributing to your problem. To fix it properly all three dials should be remove from the machine, disassembled cleaned, assembled and oiled lightly with a teflon lubricant. Since so much is removed from the machine doing this job, every setting in the machine is checked and or reset. It's a major overhaul and costs about $350 and only a handful of Viking Techs in the country can do it.

Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 sewing machine. The touch screen is not working properly. Some areas not responding to touch.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Try recalibrating the screen. Having said that, with the number of adverts for buying one, it looks like there is an issue.

Designer 1 touch screen is frozen, and I cannot calibrate because reverse button is also stopped working.

When the Designer 1 touch screen is frozen and unresponsive, preventing you from calibrating or using the reverse button, it can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Restart the Machine:
- Turn off the Designer 1 embroidery machine and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on. This can sometimes reset the system and resolve minor software glitches.
2. Check for Physical Obstructions:
- Ensure that there are no physical obstructions on the touch screen that may be causing it to be unresponsive. Clean the screen gently with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
3. Perform a Hard Reset:
Performing a hard reset on the Designer 1 embroidery machine can help resolve software-related issues and reset the system to its default settings. Here is a general guide on how to perform a hard reset on the Designer 1 embroidery machine:
A. Turn off the Machine:
- Ensure that the Designer 1 embroidery machine is turned off and disconnected from the power source.
B. Locate the Reset Button:
- On some embroidery machines, including the Designer 1, there may be a small reset button located on the machine.
- The reset button is typically a small, recessed button that may require a pin or a paperclip to press.
C. Press the Reset Button:
- Using a small pointed object like a pin or a paperclip, press and hold the reset button on the embroidery machine.
- Hold the reset button for a few seconds (typically 10-15 seconds) to initiate the hard reset process.
D. Release the Reset Button:
- After holding the reset button for the specified time, release the button.
E. Power On the Machine:
- Plug the Designer 1 embroidery machine back into the power source and turn it on.
- The machine should restart, and the hard reset process should be complete.
F. Check Functionality:
- Once the machine has restarted, check if the touch screen and other functions are responsive and working properly.
- Test the touch screen, buttons, and other features to ensure that the hard reset has resolved the issue.
(Please note that the exact steps for performing a hard reset may vary depending on the specific model and design of the Designer 1 embroidery machine. It is recommended to refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer for specific instructions on performing a hard reset for your particular machine model.)
If the hard reset does not resolve the issue with the frozen touch screen and unresponsive buttons on your Designer 1 embroidery machine, contact customer support or seek assistance from an authorized service center for further troubleshooting and repair.
4. Contact Customer Support:
- If the touch screen remains frozen and unresponsive despite trying the above steps, it is recommended to contact the customer support service for the Designer 1 embroidery machine.
- The customer support team can provide further guidance on troubleshooting the touch screen issue and may suggest additional steps to resolve the problem.
5. Professional Repair:
- If the touch screen continues to be unresponsive and the machine is still under warranty, consider taking it to an authorized service center for repair.
- Professional technicians can diagnose the issue and perform repairs if necessary to restore the functionality of the touch screen.
It's essential to handle electronic devices like embroidery machines with care when troubleshooting issues to prevent any further damage. If you are unsure about performing any of the steps mentioned above, it's best to seek assistance from the manufacturer or a professional technician to avoid causing additional problems.

How do i restore designer pape only letter page is showing on screen have husqvarna designer 1 with 4d embroidery extra

I'm not sure I understand the problem exactly. It sounds like you touch pad is not responding properly. Did you notice before this happened that you needed to touch the screen not exactly where the button on the screen comes up. If that is the issue your best bet is to have a husqvarna Viking tech and have the touch screen calibrated.

Put in viking machine embroidery arm, the machine went crazy then shut off? help?

More details needed. What model machine? What does "went crazy" mean? What happens when you turn the switch off, then on again (with the embroidery arm attached)? Does the machine function normally once the embroidery arm is removed?

I work with a shop that will diagnose for no charge. look for a better repair shop.

I just bought a used Designer 1 ESS machine and I do not know how to use the dongle

You don't need a dongle for the sewing machine. You either have a dongle for the computer embroidery software in which case it goes in your computer when you've installed the software, or you have a USB stick that has the Husqvarna designs on it.

What colour is it? The USB sticks are blue, the 3D software dongles are red. Only problem is, I think the 4D software dongles are blue too!! My Husqvarna Designer 1 USB embroidery stick (blue) has "USB Embroidery Stick" written on it - have a look for that. The dongle will have Hasp or something like that written on it.

If you are pretty sure it is a USB stick, put it in your machine and turn it on. Then touch the disk/stick icon on the lower right hand side of the screen. Your machine should start to read the stick and you will get a pop-up menu where you can choose from the folders on the stick. If you don't, go into the PROG screen. Touch MENU, touch the disk/stick icon and see if the embroidery files on the stick come up then. Each machine came with a set of designs called Embroidery Disk 100 and three alphabets - Palace Script, Kaligraphia and Clarendon. These should all be on the USB stick.

In the event that it is a dongle you have, but not the software, you need to contact the person from whom you purchased the machine.

You can download the Husqvarna designs from the Husqvarna website, but you will need a Husqvarna formatted USB stick to do this. Therefore, you do need software on your computer. There are some low-cost alternatives to the Husqvarna software - Embird and Sew What come to mind. However, a Husqvarna program called 3D Disk Manager USB came with every USB Designer 1 machine, so you should have got that when you purchased the machine. This will be enough for you to load designs from the HV website and from other websites where you purchase designs.

Hi Can u please tell me how to calibrate my Designer 1? Have not done it for a few years and now I've forgotten. Also my touch screen is only partially responding....I'm not getting any response...

Hi Vina, Since you can't get any response to your Menu-Norm-Prog-Rep-Set-or Help on your touch screen but you can get into your stitches, It does sound like you need to re-calibrate your touch screen. Normally you would get into your Set Menu to access your touch screen calibration. But as suggested on another solution. You turn off your Des 1, Holding in the reverse button (bottom left of the eight buttons) and the pivot button (the second one from the bottom of the four buttons) at the same time and turn on your machine. This is the Service menu that pops up (try not to touch anything on this screen, it could really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing) After this screen pops up go over to the eight buttons on the far left of your machine and touch the needle up, needle down button (top right button of the eight) the Calibration Screen will pop up on your touch screen (two plus marks labeled 1 & 2) In your sewing sitting position touch the center of the #1 mark and then the #2 mark. Once you've done that the Service Screen will pop back up. Shut off your Des 1 and restart it normally. Try getting into your different menus- Menu-Norm-Prog Etc. Hopefully that fixed your Calibration issue! ** Note: If the service menu doesn't pop up when trying to hold in these 2 buttons together and turning on your Des 1 the buttons weren't held in properly and you need to turn it off and try it again. Hopefully that helped you out!! Happy Sewing!! Kathy

How do I find out the embroidery time on my Viking Designer 1 sewing machine?

Hi there, If your trying to find out how long it took you to embroider something, You need to go to your touch screen menu- touch Set- then down at the bottom left of this screen and touch More- three (3) times you'll get to where it says Running time:(It's the 3rd Selection) There it will actually show you the total running time (Sewing and Embroidery If you haven't zeroed it out by hitting the zero (0) next to that selection.) You can do this on the touch screen with the embroidery unit on or off. You need to touch the zero (0) to zero out your time before you start an embroidery project. Once you've done this and you've finished an embroidery you can check how long it took by the touch screen menu- Set- touch More 3 times and there you will see how long on the Running time it took to embroider your design. I hope that helped. The total time your machine has ran (Embroidery and Sewing) is kept in Memory on the Service Screen that your Technician gets into when he services your machine. So your not actually wiping out that. The Set menu is just for you to keep track of how long your machine sews or embroiders something pretty much. I hope that helped you out with your question. Happy Sewing!! Kathy
