SOURCE: My Hot Tub gets and HL msg as soon as I turn it

This is probally a high limit warning. If you have a reset on your heater it is probally popped out. If you have drained the tub latly this may be caused by an air lock in the pipes and can be remeied by opening the drain **** on the bottom of the tub till you get water out of it. If your pump or motor has gone bad you will get these same simptoms. If you have no reset on your heater you may have burnt the element and will need to replace it This a symptom not the real problem. You need to check these other things first and be sure you have moving water before you try the heater. I hope this helped and good luck.

SOURCE: Hayward H300 heater runs but will not heat water

Your internal by-pass could be stuck open or the disc could be worn to the point of letting water pass too fast. Or your thermal control valve could be stuck open. These are both found in your water header going into the heater. Hope this helps, good luck.

SOURCE: My hot tub will not heat up. The motor is running

sounds like the heating element has gone to the next life,.....you can test it with an ohm tester,....MAKE SURE POWER OFF WHILE WORKING ON IT!!!! but no doubt it just needs a "heating element" cracklin joe

SOURCE: my spaform hot tub will not reach its temp ..we

if the heater tests out good, you most likely have a problem with the water temperature sensor. Make sure that the temp readout matches the actual water temp.. Sometimes the heater will think that the water is up to temp because the temp sensor is feeding the circuit board bad info. Check sensors, replace as necessary.

My Balboa 300F hot tub will not heat up. I am not able to get it out of economy mode. What can I do?

First, balboa does not manufacture hot tubs! They make control systems for hot tubs. If you are no longer able to switch between modes, then your topside control panel buttons are dead or falling. But... Even if you are still in economy mode, spa should still heat up. Once a demand for heat is recognized, you have a "Heat Call" and heater should come on. Is the "heat on" light, illuminated? If so, water should be heating, if not heater element may be bad? A multi meter would be good here: is there proper voltage at terminals on circuit board to heater? If so, bad element! If no voltage, then heater is not necessarily bad, probably just fine, I would then look at sensors? Good luck

I have a Jacuzzi J340 Hot Tub. I am having trouble with the heating. When the pump is on, the water circulates just fine. once the heater kicks on, it runs for about 10 seconds, then clicks to OH, and...

make sure the heating element isnt touching the casing inside the heating tube. if its an indoor tub, make sure the filtration cycles are not set to constant. constant filter cycles on an indoor tub will generate residual heat from the circ pump running 24/7, causing tub to heat past 104 degrees

Bad heating element. Shut the power to the breaker off, disconnect the wires off of the heating element and then check for (ohms) continuity across the two element leads. If it show OL on the meter then you here is an open in the element and it will need to be replaced. Good luck.

My Reliance 606 40 gallon water heater only heats up enough hot water to fill a bathtub. We've drained it, the pilot light is fine, it heats up the water really hot, but it just doesn't seem to be able to...

How big is your bathtub? Is your water heater set on the hottest setting? What is the temperature of the hot water at the tap?

Keep in mind that hot water can cause severe burns. Children and those with diminished mental capacity can be seriously harmed by hot water.

The "40 Gallon" rating on the water heater is usually the amount of hot water the unit can produce in one hour. So the tank, and the amount of immediately available hot water, might be smaller than 40 gallons.

My bathtub is 2 feet wide by 1 foot deep and 4 feet long. This is 8 cubic feet or almost 60 gallons. So a 40 gallons of water at 120 degrees, mixed with 20 gallons of cold water (60 degrees), fills the tub with 100 degree water. My January cold water is 42 degrees, so it will take 40 gallons at 129 degrees to fill the tub. If the tub is cold to start it will take even hotter water.

So the water heater might be just fine.

Possible solutions:
1. turn the temperature up on your water heater- or the temperature control could be malfunctioning and not getting the water hot enough.
2. insulate your hot water pipes so that the water loses less heat on the way to the tub.
3. bigger water heater.
4. smaller bathtub, or less full bathtub.

Water not heating

It sounds like your inline heater has stopped working. The only way to test it is to drain the water back out, remove the inline heater, and hook power to it to see if it heats up.

If it doesn't you can get one at a discount supply house (like Home Depot or Lowes) for less than $150.

Jaccuzi hot tub will not heat?

sounds like it maybe the heater again. Have you pulled it out and checked the ohms? it should be at least 10.5 ohms
it could be the thermostat or the pressure switch - if either of those are not working it will not heat either.
