That Network Appliance is really THREE different devices in one.
A Router
A Wireless Access Point
A 4-Port Switch

All you need to do is to connect an Ethernet cable from the Network adapter in your PD, to one of the 4 switch-ports on the back of the router+ device; which one does not matter.

Unable to locate WEP key. Adding device to wireless network. Using WHR HP G54 model

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

With a data cable where do i connect the router to the pc which ports

There is only one way to connect a router to a pc and thankfully there is only one port also. The ethernet cable you have (looks like a over sized phone jack) will plug into the lan 1 port on the back of the router and then plug into the only spot it will plug into on your pc. Just look on the back for another over sized phone jack looking receptor and you should be up and running from there.
Good Luck.

WCR-G54 router, wireless access has no internet connection, local only. Why?

If your wireless card in your computer/laptop has not been configured with your wireless router's settings then it cannot connect to the wireless router. That is why you only get Internet connect when you are connect with a LAN cable.
