If your PS3 lags or freezes when loading content from the hard drive, the drive either lacks free space or is faulty. To create more space, try removing items from your hard drive or getting a new hard drive with a higher storage capacity. A faulty hard drive must be replaced.
I wish it was just the lens. However you as many of us, will need to replace the HDD (Hard Disc Drive) of the machine. And yes Sony will do that for the $.
Well here you to go the answer to your problem is.....................................1. Sign out of your playstation account.2. Load game (the game will load fine without being logged in.3. Your disc drive may be going bad or a connection may be loose. You may want to consider sending it to Sony to get it repaired or if you are savvy enough you can do it yourself but be wary. if you do it yourself your warranty will be no longer applicable. If home works then the system is not overheating as seems to be the issue with most systems.
