Question about Panasonic DMREZ485VK DVD/VCR Player
I am having audio issues on my recorder. The other day the recording and output volume was fine. Today the sound is very low. I have not changed any settings on the recorder or the television. I have the following in the Set-up menu: Dynamic Range Compression - On Multi-Channel TV Sound (Analog) - Main Multi-Channel TV Sound (Digital) - English Digital Audio Output: a) PCM Down Coversion - Off b) Dolby Digital - Bitstream c) DTS - Bitstream Select Audio Channel For DV Input - Stereo 1

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

We realized that we needed to have the converter box on and we had been turning it off. We left it on and did succeed at recording a show last evening.

Did you get anywhere with this? I have a similar problem with a DVD/PVR from Woxter. I've tried different cables and changed many of the settings without luck. I've seen a couple of posts which suggest changing country and sound settings (to PCM), so I'll check them out before I call in a repairman to check out the circuitry around the sound output.
