My microwave over does not shut off

Only way to shut off seems to be to unplug. stop button on panel does not shut off.

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer, but my radarange also began this odd behavior about a month ago... my son is a mechanic has almost forbade me to use it, stating he gets a headache everytime he opens it.... Once the range stops cooking, I open the microwave to get the food out, and the range immediately turns back on, lights on, and carousel turning! I have NO IDEA if the microwaves are engaged at this point???!!! But suppose I need to find out ASAP!

You can try unplugging the oven for at least 15 minutes to see if the control panel will reset on its own.

If that doesn't fix it, you might have a bad control panel, or oven may not be properly grounded.

I unplugged my aunt's microwave to clean it, when I plugged it back on the light inside is on and the plate turns and the fan goes, cannot do anything with it, can't cancel or start, only way is...
Likely when you cleaned it, grease mixed with the cleaner you used got between the button panel and the actual button switch behind the panel, making it stick on. Will need the model to determine how to remove the panel to clean underneath...OR, it may dry out and start working normally again.

The microwave will start cooking when the door is shut. I am unable to press clear or cancel to stop the cooking. The only way to stop the microwave from cooking is to unplug it, or open the door.

Our oven started coming on when the door was shut. It is not cooking but the light and the fan come on. Nothing makes it stop except opening the door. I unplugged it for awhile, but that didn't help...
I have the same problem.

I found that by removing the control panel, then moving the small red-buttoned switches around the door open switch seemed to solve the problem.

We felt the problem was a mechanical problem because closing the door very gently permitted normal operation.
