No agitation or spin? try these:
Motor Coupling If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and
Drive Belt If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly.

Drive Motor If the washer won't spin or agitate the drive motor might be defective. This is not common. Check all of the other related parts to this symptom before replacing the motor. If the motor is visibly burned out or physically damaged, replace it.

Stator Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the stator assembly might be burned out. The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed.

Transmission or clutch assembly not engaging due to going out or slipping.

Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the lid switch assembly might be defective.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Motor Control Board he motor control board provides power to the motor as well as direction and force. If the motor control board is defective the washer may not work at all or function properly.

SOURCE: maytag fav6800aww wont spin

I have a 3 year old neptune top load and have experienced the same problems you all have had here. Problem: Washer was leaking 1/2 gallon of water every load and sounded like a freight train on spin cycle. I usually do my own repairs but didn't have time so I called A&E by the recommendation of Maytag. Diagnosis! The tech said the tob o-ring seal was bad as well as the transmission. I had no reason to dought this professional right. I did after he told me the price... $450 to fix it!!!! I reluctantly gave him his $65 service call fee and said goodbye..
I called maytag and they said the transmission should have been covered by warranty (10 years). The tech was either an idiot or just plain trying to rip me off. I called Maytag back and they sent me the supposed bad tranmission and seals. I replaced them in 1/2 an hour. Guess what.... This did not fix the leaking or the loud spin cycle noise. What is the problem with this neptune model? The problem for every owner including myself has at minimum been the main seal inside the outer tub. This leaking for months took out the bearings causing the noisy spin cycle. I replaced both 6207-2rs bearings compliments of ebay for $6ea. After reassembly it was like new for the first load. On the second load it would stop on the spin cycle.... It would cycle between the agitators and trying to spin but never engaging into spin. After 5-6 minutes it gave me the code that stated an unbalanced load. What the problem was is the leaking had made its way into the clutch as well. I pulled the clutch/pulley back of and cleaned and lubed it. Problem solved! She now goes into spin and has no problems whatsoever. I'll never call A&E again...Mechanically this washer is a piece of cake to work on. Electronically it could be a bear... The bearing replacement took approx. 2 hours total from start to finish. Next time I'm buying Kenmore and the extended warranty. I'm tired of screwing with this junk... Good luck guys.... Jos Roach... CA.

SOURCE: won't extract water/Maytag Neptune MAH3000AWW

To be 100 % sure ,do this ,pull the whole face panel forward (remove the 3 screws on top face panel and may have 2 more in the back of the face panel)Once youve pulled the panel forward you will see your control board facing you.Look closely at the circuit board and look for a burnt circuit (CALLED R-11) .iF YOU SEE IT BURNT ,REPLACE THE WHOLE BOARD. I HAVE A COUPLE OF BOARDS AVAILABLE AND WAX MOTORS BUT I'LL NEED THE SERIAL NUMBER FIRST. Either way the board is easy to install the wax motor is a little more difficult.

SOURCE: washer stopped between the wash cycle and spin cycle

Check to see that your pump is not clogged. You can get a tutorial for this fix here. http://shop.washermd.com/product.sc?categoryId=4&productId=10

SOURCE: My Whirlpool washer won't agitate or spin . But it does drain the water.

i also had the same problem, and it ended up being the coupler. It was not hard to replace, it cost me about 19.00. I didn't follow full recomende instructions. I tipped the washer backwards. Removed the drain pump and the motor itself. Then I removed the old coupling and placed the new one. The washer is working like new...

SOURCE: Water doesn't drain

you could have a bad drain pump.
have you checked the hoses that come from the bottom of the tub to the drain pump for anything that might be stuck in there, also check the hose that comes off the drain pump to the wall and look for an obstruction.

Washing Machine - Bowl is full of water, won't progress to spin cycle. PU error code displayed.

When all else fails its usually the computer. There's a circuit board that goes bad (mine did after 20+ yrs) and cost around $60. You can usu. see a bulging resistor, capacitor, etc and smells 'burnt' to tell. If you're getting an error code that made be computer declaring itself dead! Sorry. Those beasts are SUCH a pain some times!

Link is just for pics of circuit boards and some info. DON"T go by insane price seen! Not true. WASHING MACHINE CIRCUIT BOARDS

Maybe try Repair Clinic for a video. They MAY have a decent price on your board. Sears has its own site. LG Washing Machine Circuit Board Timer Parts

Kenmore 70 series model 110.20722990 wont drain and spin

It could be the timer or circuit board, until it is not draining, will not spin
If the timer or circuit board is OK, the you have a faulty drain pump or motor, to check this out remove the back panel.

Fills up with water, wont wash, drum motors works

Sounds as if this computer is trying to display an error code. If switching cycles manually makes it work, then it is most likely a bad circuit board. Try doing a google search for "Kenmore washer lights blinking" or something to that effect.

My wife put a heavy load into the machine. Though the machine spins slowly the spin cycle does not remove any water. Is the motor going bad or is there something wrong with the pump that removes the water?...

There are two motors- the drive motor for the basket and a seperate drain motor for pumping out water. It there is standing water in the tub it is possibly a bad drain pump or plugged(say a kids sock) If you pull the drain hose slightly up out of the stand pipe while it is draining and there is full water flow your pump is fine. (will not spin with water in tub) (door lock also needs to work)

There are some out of balance switches on machine to limit speed in spin. Need to manually test.

The tech sheet is probably in the back of the console controls. To check the main motor involves removing the front panel and the p4(by memory, do not quote me on this) connector on the motor control board in the base. Working on the main motor is more involved, not going to cover all the testing neccessary with just your description of problem. Nice washing machine, but there are easier ones to service.

Hope this helps

I have a Fridgidaire front loader. It completes the regular wash cycle, but clothes are soaking wet- it's not doing the final fast spin. When I select the drain/spin option, it drains and eventually...

Either an off balance load (unlikely if it happens all the time), a bad door switch, or a bad motor control board. Easiest repair is to try replacing the door switch, failing that, i'd call someone in to test the speed board.

E20 error message

replace the control panel or have it repaired, there is no e20 listed as a trouble code,so it needs to be replaced.

To clear latest stored error code:

Place the control into Diagnostic test Mode.
  • Turn the program knob clockwise 9 clicks from the Start Position. The control will signal the last error code.
  • Press and hold the Options and Pause Cancel buttons for 3 seconds. The code will be cleared.
  • Exit Diagnostic Mode to return the washer to normal operation.
