The red light on my Marantz SR5008 keeps flashing and wont turn on. How can I fix this

Disconnect everything and then plug in only the power. If the light still blinks, the PS is probably damaged and will need to be serviced. If the light doesn't blink, you have a shorted connection. Speaker wires are probably the most likely.

I have the same issue but it radomly starts playing normal again for a while. Then, it goes back to the red blinking light.

I can't find any good suggestions to fix this problem.

SOURCE: Marantz SR5005 power up

Sounds like a short in the amplifier. This will have to be repaired before the unit will operate.

Might want to check the input. Very few sources are recorded in full 7.1. In auto you will only see what is encoded in the digital stream coming over an HDMI input. If you're using the component 7.1 inputs, you can select the 7.1 input directly using the remote.
