Broken ceramic there's a crack in the ceramic liner? what are my options short of buying an entire new unit? Seems like such an environmental waste. I called Rival and they don't offer replacements. for the Rival 3040.

    I've also tried to find a replacement crock to no avail and wondered why they don't sell them. Mr. Coffee sells replacement pots so it would seem logical that Rival should be able to also.

    My stoneware is also cracked, would like to replace it rather than buying a complete unit.

    I dropped the ceramic crock and broke it. This was the first time I used it and would prefer to get the broken part replaced, rather than having to buy an entire unit.

The ceramic liner for my crock pot has hard-to-see dark "crack" lines after only a few uses. seems to be "behind" the glaze but hard to tell. is it safe to use or is there the risk of bacteria, etc.?
If you want to check to see if the cracks are in the glazed area, try beet juice swirled around in the liner. Rinse the liner out with some water. If you see the juice in the cracks after rinsing, it's probably time to look for a replacement liner. Bacteria will find a way out of these cracks and into your food while cooking.

Check with your local hardware store, maybe they have some sort of scellent or glue for ceramic, just make sure it can stand high temperatures, if the crack is in the inside of the pot make also sure the product won't contaminate the food with nasty chemicals. Sorry that is the only thing I can think of besides buying a new crock...

Believe it or not in this day and age, although seemingly wasteful, it is much cheaper to simply purchase an entirely new unit instead of the cost of a replacement liner and the S/H.

Try calling the manufacturer and tell them you noticed it and you are sure you didn't do anything to damage it. There isn't much you can do to seal it. Good luck

Cracked ceramic Kitchenaid crock pot liner
There is no inherent problem with the Kitchenaid ceramic inserts. As far as a replacement ceramic insert, I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. They may be able to provide a new insert at no cost if the unit is still within the 1 Year warranty.
