SOURCE: No water or ice through door

sounds like the dispenser assembly is not sensing that the trap door is opening fully, so it wont send power to the auger motor or fill valve. If you are pretty handy, you can disassemble the door and take out the dispenser assembly and try to take the assembly apart and correct the throw on the trap door. Otherwise, I'm afraid you need a new dispenser to the tune of about $250 parts and $225 trip and labor. Good luck!

SOURCE: Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.

SOURCE: Fridge won't dispense ice through door.

First take the hopper out and let it de-ice completely making sure that it is dry before re-installing it. Make sure that the auger moves when re installed with no ice in it.

SOURCE: Ice Dispenser not dispensing ice

Remove the top freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the plug there . This will remove power to the dispensor . Remove the dispensor grill , and also the 2 screws at the bottom of the dispensor front . Lift the front up and out , and remove the plug on the front . You should now see the white switch bracket . On the left side , is the ice dispensor motor switch , when usually , one of the spears holding the switch breaks off , not allowing the ice dispensor to work . If this is the case , the part number is 2180226 . Only held on by 2 screws . When/if replaceing , be sure to put the plastic spacers in the correct position next to both switches , and be careful not to break one of the spears , holding the switches .

Ice maker frigidaire only making crushed

What is the model number of your refrigerator the ice container that has the auger in there has a lever that goes through the bottom of the ice container and then into an opening in the back where it slides into Square opening that moves the lever up and down when you switch from crushed to cubed it changes the position of that lever. Open the door and press the light switch to turn off the light and have someone pressed the dispense ice button with the ice bucket out can you see that part move up and down. Switch it from crushed to Cubed while watching and pressing the dispense ice button. Does it moved? Is there ice build up over that area that may prevent that actuator for moving the lever?

How to change the light bulb in the outside ice/water dispenser

Question about Maytag 22.6 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator with PuriClean II Ice and Water
1 Answer
The light on the outside door (where the ice/water dispenser is) won't turn off. It is dimmer than when you hit the 'light' button, but it stays on constantly when the door is shut. The 'light' button works and turns the bulb brighter, but when you turn it off, it just dims and doesn't go out. The light shuts off when the door is open and turns back on when its closed. Model Number MSD2456GEB

Re: The light on the outside door (where the ice/water...

Hi
Reprogramming your refrigerator to only light up when the dispenser is in use saves energy and keepsyour house darker at night. The light is controlled using the buttons above the water dispenser mechanism.Press and hold the "Lock" or "Lock Controls" button for three seconds to activate the controls if they currently are locked.Tap the "Light" button to switch off the light.Press and hold the "Lock" button for another three seconds to lock the controls from further changes. The light now only comes on when the dispenser is active.
If the above procedure won't work then this will be the cause of a faulty switch. This light switch is an integrated part of the dispenser control circuit board. This will require you, or your service tech to replace the entire dispenser/ice maker control board. It will be located just behind the dispenser fascia, mounted on a bracket. the actual light switch circuit is mounted on this board.
Try this procedure:-
Shutdown the unit for five minutes. Simply unplug the unit for this length of time. This will reset the board, and possibly, fix this fault if it is not to severe. If the shutdown dose not correct the switch action, simply replace the dispenser/switch control circuit board.
Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept the solution.

I have a jenn-air jcd2389ges. The hole in the door where the ice comes down into your cup is broken. i believe the foam piece is busted

Here is a kit of the most likely parts that you are talking about=> 12001991 Ice Dispenser Solenoid and Door Kit Just disconnect the power and turn water off before beginning to ddisassemble the fispenser components seen here=> JCD2389GES Dispenser Components
1. Unplug the refrigerator power cord.
2. Remove the overflow grille from the housing.
3. Unsnap front cover at the bottom of the housing.
(using a flat blade screwdriver, and tape or pad, twist the screw driver, or pry out the bottom trim using the molded slots in the bottom of the trim panel).
4. Disconnect the front cover switch harness connector and set the cover aside.
5. Disconnect the power wire harness connector (BL/BK and W wires)
6. Disconnect the flapper door heater wire harness connector (if one is present).
7. Release the dispenser microswitch retainers and slide the switches off of their locator pins. Carefully handle the switches so they do not come apart.
8. Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the lamp holder.
9. Remove the two 1/4. hex head screws from the control bracket and remove the control bracket.
10. Remove the 1/4. hex head screw to remove the water fitting (fill spout) from the water dispenser lever.
11. Unsnap the ice guide and remove it from the ice dispenser lever.
12. Remove the air pot by sliding the rear of the air pot out of the slot molded to the dispenser housing and slip the linkage out of the flapper door mechanism assembly.
13. Unsnap the flapper door and remove it from the ice dispenser lever. While you remove the flapper door, carefully guide the flapper door heater wire and connector over the door mechanism assembly.
14. Remove the 1/4. hex head screw securing the dispenser levers pivot retainer to the dispenser housing and remove the retainer.
15. Remove the water dispenser lever.
16. Remove the ice dispenser lever by maneuvering it around the door mechanism assembly.
17. Pull the pin from the door mechanism assembly and remove the spring and mechanism assembly.
18. Reassemble in reverse order.

My Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator GS6NVEXSL00 wont give me the ice out the door. It makes ice, but when I press the button on the door nothing happens. Seems like the button went out. HELP!

Does the water dispenser work? Is there a light at the dispenser panel, does it light? Do you hear any noises or motors running when you actuate ice dispenser? You could have a power issue for the dispenser. Some newer whirlpool models have an issue with the wiring leading into the door at bottom being so securley fastened to frame, the lack of movement forces the wires to bend, and in time break, with door usage. If water dispenser works, and you hear no sounds when the ice lever is actuated, then you have a problem with the dispenser panel circuit board. if water works and you hear some sounds when ice lever is actuated, such as a loud popping noise, then you have a bad ice dispenser auger motor, not churning the ice out of the bucket.

Ice wont come out the door

Can you tell me if the auger turns and ice is just building up in the ice chute? I need to make sure we are talking about the model FRS6R5EMB so we are all talking about the same thing. The auger may be turning or may not. You can test that by opening the door, pulling the ice container with auger inside out and pressing the light switch in while someone presses dispense ice. You should see the motor turning the auger drive. If that works then we need to focus on the dispenser door if working or not, Let me know Thanks, Sea Breeze

GE icemaker won't dispense crushed ice or ice cube. Cold water dispenses OK.

First I need you to take the Ice Container out wash and dry it. Next I want you to open the freezer door and press the door switch that will turn off the light. With the light off have someone press the dispense ice button and see if the auger motor turns freely in the rear of the freezer with the ice pan and auger out of the way and then let me know your findings, Please rate my solution and I'm here if you have questions.Sea Breeze

Jenn Air JCD2389GES ice dispenser problem

You could have a layer of solid ice at the bottom of your icetray. Remove icetray. Remove any ice in bottom. Reinstall. Be careful there is a connection on the rear of the icetray, you may have to turn it to get it to mesh correctly. Fill with ice and it should work fine. Good Luck.
