I have a hisense 55" lcd and there seems to be some discoloration sometimes when there is dark colors and appears vertically. Usually looks like a greenish color and is not confined to any certain spot on the screen. It is bit difficult to explain. There is also vertical lines on the left hand side of the screen that are not a solid color but are just noticeable if looking at it. The T.V use to turn off on it's own sometimes when watching but recently instead of turning off it has been turning on in the middle of the night. It does not have a wake timer but does have a sleep timer. The sleep timer is sometimes used but was not the reason it was turning off before. Also when it does turn on by itself it is at random times of the night. The main problem is the picture though it is not terrible however it is ugly at times and when close to the tv I can really see the vertical lines. It is not just the dark colors but is random on the screen.

This television, appears to have had a failure in the mainboard. This is the board that controls the video functions and sound functions. The unit should be taken or sent in to a service center for testing and servicing. The service center will have all the correct service information to determine the problem for you. You can call Insignia customer support at this telephone number 1-877-467-4289. You can also got to the customer support website at www.insignia-products.com. I have also experienced the same problem on two occasions, but my Sony TV KDLV3000 has actually been backwards and forwards on three occasions to be repaired. I have had a new control unit and will be having a second screen replacement shortly. I have contacted my local Sony Centre and they have stated that they will only replace the TV if there are THREE IDENTICAL faults.
COME ON SONY CENTRE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND TAKE A NOTE FROM JOHN LEWIS THERE CUSTOMER CARE IS SECOND TO NONE.
Not sure I'll buy a Sony again after this experience having been a loyal Sony customer for a number of years, will probably look at a Samsung or LG next time.

Hi,
It is hardware issue related to LCD Panel (screen).
Regarding fixing it, it depends if you are handy with electronics stuff repair and can replace circuit boards in tv etc then please check T-Con (lcd controller board) on top center position at rear of lcd panel, this board would be covered with metal shield. Need to take off back cover of tv to get access to T-Con board. If T-Con board does not solve lines problem of screen then LCD Panel is bad and will be replaced.
If you fee uncomfortable doing so then repairman option is better choice.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

I had this problem on a 37" Viewsonic LCD. Pulled it apart and through a process of elimination, I traced the problem back to a small board with several flat white ribbon cables coming out of it. The board was near the top center of the screen and under a ton of other equipment requiring almost a total disassembly.
This small board was clean but I noticed one of the rubber standoffs had slipped down and was making contact with one of the outputs running to the LCD. It also happened to be the output running to the section of the screen with the problem.
I postulated that the sticky glue on the rubber standoff may have just enough conductivity to cause a problem. Moved it so that it was no longer touching anything electrical and then reassembled the TV.
Afterwards, I turned it on and was pleased to see the problem has gone away! If you're having the vertical line problem, then maybe this could be your problem too, especially if you have a Viewsonic since it could be a manufacturing defect.
