Dell LCD Monitor Pictures, Dark Colors Course, Fuzzy, Pixelly

Had great clear image for years then last week monitor became fuzzy and dark images, dark text became pixelly/fuzzy with very small yellow/bright lines. Other color text like blue and gray seem unaffected - just black/bold text and images/pictues. I've tried rebooting but doesn't seem to fix. Am I at the end of my monitor's life? Thank you ahead of time for your help!

James

A 20" monitor gets a black screen when turned on

sounds like you might have a back lighting issue? take a flash light and shine it on the monitor when it is black and look to see if the image is there but not lit up, if this is the case then you might need to change the light balist in the monitor of even the back lights themselfs..
if the picture is fuzzy for a long period of time then you have a controler card issue there is a controler card in the monitor that changes the image coming in from HDMI, VGA, DVI into the binary that the vertical and horizontal drivers use to show you the image onthe screen... hope this info helps. good luck

My display is pink & fuzzy.

You could have a faulty CCFL lamp or inverter, To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Black edges to individual lcd cells

Sounds to me like the screen is starting to go bad. Best way to find out though, try another known working monitor and see how that works. If the other monitor works well then you know the original monitor is the problem.

If the 2nd monitor gives you problems then you know its the video card thats bad at that point cause you would be having the same problem on both computers.

Dell Inspiron laptop monitor is gone very faint

Connect an external monitor to the laptop and power it up, if you see a clear image on an external monitor, this means your video card is OK.

If you see a dim image or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.

Monitor lcd acer al2016w 20" letters and image are fuzzy,,why?

I also have an Asrock motherboard (M266A) and have the AL2216W. The image and text is also fuzzy. I did improve it a by by unplugging/replugging all of the connectors on the back of the computer. I believe my mouse had a somewhat loose connection and this was causing interference. I can actually create interference on screen by moving my mouse up and down.
These Acer monitors seem to be very sensitive. I also tried this monitor on a old Desktop with Win98 and another new laptop with XP and it looks good on those computers, but not on my Asrock based system.

Image reduced by dark edges

An adapter tube has to flare out at the end or it will cut the corners off at the wide angle setting. Telephoto should be ok though.

Images seem over-exposed

Time for a new one I guess- too old to consider remedial work.
