Hi, try to use Ctrl Alt and delete keys at the same time . If you get the task manager simply go to new task and type explorer.exe and hit enter. that will restore your desktop. go here http://www.pcworld.com/article/183440/windows_black_screen_death.html or http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/f/start-windows-last-known-good-configuration.htm

SOURCE: mouse pad

I have this problem every now and then. For a quick fix, I goto the toolbar next to the time where it has the Synaptis Pointing Device Icon, a box, with two boxs under it (like the mouse on the laptop) left click it -> Pointing Device Properties -> Device Settings Tab, highlight the device and click DISABLE, it'll ask if you are sure you want t disable it -> OK. Then simply, click it again, and ENABLE. This like, "resets" the mouse, mine works everytime.

SOURCE: frozen mouse with a touch pad laptop computer

Many laptops have a button, usually located right above the touchpad, that disables the touchpad.

And there may be drivers that need to be loaded for some touchpads to operate properly, in case you've reinstalled the OS.

SOURCE: frozen mouse with a touch pad laptop computer

Dear MGK7,

That does make it more difficult! Okay, for future reference, when you have key control again and the mouse or touch pad stops working, if you have a standard 101 key keyboard, or even a laptop with one key instead of two on certain keys, you can do it this way:

1. Hit the Windows key, which will open your start menu.
2. Pressing the Windows key and Pause/break will take you to your system properties.
3. Minimizing and restoring screens hit Windows key and "D".
4. To get to Utility Manager, hit Windows key and "U". This will, among other things, allow you to choose to use only the keyboard or the mouse, so you can disconnect the mouse, among many other things.
5. Pressing Windows key and "F1" will take you to Help & Support.
6. Windows key plus "E" takes you to Windows Explorer".
7. Pressing "Cntrl, Alt, Delete" takes you to the task manager.

These keys should provide help in getting around in your system without a mouse.

To get to control panel, for example, press the Windows key to op[en the Start menu, and use the "up arrow" button to go to control panel.

Now that everything appears frozen, power your machine down. Remove the battery from the rear for a few minutes, even if you are operating on A/C plug in. Put the battery back in and power up. Did this make any difference?

You can always buy an inexpensive laptop mouse which works on USB. When you plug in the USB the mouse works independently of everything else. Then you could click the start up memory, help, and choose restore to an earlier time before this problem happened.

That usually will clear any problem.

Please let me know what happens.

This has happened to me and it took me hours to figure it out. I hope yours is the same problem...
Make sure you dont have your touch pad set to off. On my ASUS It is F9 on my keyboard. the key shows an icon of the touch pad with a slash (/) through it. If you do not see this on your keyboard try looking in control panel and see if there is a setting in there. Good Luck. Please let me know if this worked.

I have gateway laptop and the touch mouse has got hanged also all the icons have become large and streched what to do?

right click on the desktop and select properties
then in the properties select settings
change the screen resolution from 800 by 600 pixels to anything more than this figure. click apply and see that the icons will get small. for the touch mouse try reinstalling its driver. Go to control panel, then device manager. in that select touch pad or something like that and the option which will be inside the touchpad option, right click it and select update driver, while remaining connected online. this way it will search for the latest driver for the touchpad

For that you need to refix RAM memory.
It is in back side of laptop.
check in back side you find 1 plate upon battery open it then refix RAM memory.
if still same issue then you have to reset bios settings for that open back cover of laptop then find motherbord pull CMOS cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings goes to factory defaults.
Then check.
Let me know if you need more assistance.

Not turning on

  1. Press the home button (the big circle below the screen) and the sleep wake button (the button on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
  2. Hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, Ignore the "Slide to power off" and keep holding
  3. The iPhone should now shutdown automatically - (fade to black)
  4. Turn the iPhone back on by hitting the sleep/wake button.
  5. You should now see the Apple logo, your iPhone is restarting and thus booting up.
  6. You have completed a hard reset successfully

Do you unlock your mouse on a dell xps m1530

There is no way to check the touchpad settings. Either she has removed the touch pad driver, or she has changed the settings. See if you can find the dell touch pad icon on your system tray(circled in red in the picture below)
aed50f6.gif
If you cant then connect an external mouse and download the driver from the link below
If you can see the touch pad icon in the system tray then you just need to change the settings. I have set mine at correct levels and posted a screenshot below

Set them to the levels shown above and you should be fine.
Let me know if you need more help.
