E1 Error when it is turned on or plugged in

My DH400P comes right to an error E1. It worked great last season but came right up to this error the first time it was hooked up this year. I checked all the connectors but can't seem to find anything obvious. Anyone know what this is?
thanks, Jon

    I have the same problem. All the sudden for the last four days the dehumidifier is displaying E1 and my basement humidity is high. How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks

    Me too, E1 error. I have two of these units only one has the error. I completely rebuilt both of them today. I am glad I did because the filter was totally clogged with gunk and the resivoir was as well. It was very easy and I recommend doing so. Access is fairly easy if you are mechanically inclined. I blew out the filter with a water hose fitting that just happened to fit the tube. Otherwise you can probably just buy a replacement at a hardware store. The pumps work much smoother now and I probably avoided burning the motor out.

    In the end I still have E1 error code on the one unit; however, it seems to function normally.

    Aside from that pesky code driving me crazy from curiosity these units are powerhouses. I remodel basements and other general contracting work. These things have been taking a beating and in the dirtiest areas (hence the filter being clogged) but still will dry an area in no time. Yeah, I said dry. I use these to dry flooded basements etc not so much just controll humidity for comfort. Anyway, I always run mine constantly and on turbo so perhaps it has something to do with the humidity shut off or something. I haven't tried that. Damn E1 code.

When I turn on my dehumidifier the symbol E1 appears. Can anybody answer this?

It's not cooling. Unplug it and try to defrost it with a blow dryer. Then, plug it back in and see if the error code goes away. If it doesn't, most likely the coolant has leaked out and you will need to have it fixed and recharged.
Good luck!

Error message CH 24. Any ideas? I have the LD651EBL dehumidifier.

We;ve managed to clear this error, at least for the last 5 days. Remove the bucket, and reach up behind the front panel where there is a filter- ours was covered in dust. After cleaning this off, and resetting the machine (by pulling the electric plug out and re-inserting), the error went away.
Your mileage may vary.

E1 CODE ERROR

E1 code for the primary humidity sensor behind right side grill. Unit MUST be unplugged from outlet. Take right side grill out, unplug sensor from wire socket and plug back. If no help, you need new sensor.

P1 error

Your question needs to be answered in 3 parts:

1) As per the manual for my Danby Dehumidifier (Model DDR657EE), the unit may not turn on immediately when powered On (it may take a several minutes). So, generally, it would be normal in your case.

2) Danby's Consumer Help Line (1-800-263-2629) is always busy. So, I called their General number: 419-425-8627. The receptionist transferred my call to their Service dept. My call was answered in 2 minutes.

The Service Rep. described the following code for my dehumidifier model (DDR657EE):
P1 = Defrosting: the unit will go into Defrost mode periodically to ensure that the parts are working at the right operating temperature. It should be in Defrost (P1) mode for only a brief period of time. If the unit is in Defrost (P1) mode continuously for a couple of hours (or more), then you should call Danby Service for further assistance.

He had no documentation of a P2 code for my model.

He also described other General Codes (applicable to most Dehumidifier/Humidifier models):
E1 = Not enough water
E2 = Not draining
E3 = Water temperature too cool
E4 = Overflow Switch activated
E6 / E7 = Problem with Temperature Sensor

So, generally, if you see P1 periodically (for brief periods), then it would be normal.

3) Since your unit keeps running (continuously) and there is no water in the bucket, then you should call Danby ServiceI for additional assistance - it seems defective for this reason.

I hope that helps.

Delonghi Dehumidifier E! error

I Had an E error (not an E1 error) when I was fiddling with my humidity/temp sensor on the face of the radiator fins (behind air filter).  The sensor was WET.  I dabbed it dry, let it sit all day, and re-assembled.  It works fine now.
