SOURCE: Epson Stylus Pro 9600 vs Agfa Sherpa44

The Agfa Sherpa is not manufactured by Epson. Both Epson and Agfa buy and retag their printers from Mutoh.
I do not know if the 44 is the same as Epson 7600 or 9600, but it should fit the same cartridges.

If the printer does not accept the cartridges, that means that there is something different in the software stored in the Epson cartridge chip.

In this case you will be only able to use only Agfa or Mutoh Falcon cartridges.

SOURCE: epson 9600 magenta won't print - have new cap assembly installed

The ink should come out of the cart. if not the cart is the problem at this point try anothere magenta if that does not shore it up then you need to then start looking at the print head where it goes it itself now the store you bought the ink from will give you a replacement no questions asked sometimes even if you dont got the reciept. Try those steps you be glad you did.

SOURCE: I have a Epson 9600 pigment printer,I am using

It probably has to do with the chip embedded in your cartridges. This tells the printer what kind of ink you're using. Your cartridges could have the wrong chip.

SOURCE: Hi, On Epson stylus Pro 9600.

Hi,

ORDER your printhead directly from here

http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/epson-print-head-9600.html

The 100005 is a maintenance required error! The maintenance needed is a different printhead. Ensure that you purchase the printhead that comes with a good return policy in case the error continues. NOTE: With exchange of the printhead, this error normally goes away.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Maintenance required 0040 code

Hello.

Your error code means the Pump/Cap/Cleaning assembly has reached the end of its life and will soon fail. This is a major replacement part and it is typically more cost effective to replace your printer rather than repair.

You can continue to print, but soon you will experience leaking ink, damaged hardware and poor prints.

Hope this helps.

Epson 9600 print head missing numerous nozzels during test print procedure. Tried power clean several times. Do you have a remedy?

You willl probably need to clean the Pump Cap Assy.

You will need a strong flashlight/clip-on lamp to see what you are doing up in the area you are cleaning.

Move the print head to the left side of 9600. (If you need help with this let me know.)

Use a foam tipped swab slightly dampened with warm water to GENTLY wipe around the seal area of the Pump Cap Assy.

DO NOT USE A COTTON TIPPED SWAB !!!

Dip, Blot, & Wipe. Clean the Foam Swab often to wash off the residue it will pick up. Remenber to keep the swab slightly moist - not dripping wet.
---
If this does't help, it generally means that the Print Head is also very clogged with gummy/dried ink.

The Print Head cannot be cleaned without removing the Right Side Cover & then removing the Pump Cap Assy. This removing and cleaning is about a 1.5hr-2hr job for an experienced tech. Anyone with moderate mechanical skills can do it though.

Pump Cap Assy cleaning is usually done BEFORE replacing the Print Head.

If the Print Head cleaning doesn't work then a New Print Head is in order.

Hope this helps ! Good Luck !

Epson 9600 quit printing all colors even when trying to print head alignment, I have pulled off head and cleaned and power cleaned several time.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Epson sp9600

aha and your printer is not functioning right now isnt it, or it is still operational, either way that error must be solve or you will never use your printer. this error means that your pump motor is near end about 5% of its life is left. here is the sure solution for your prob. turn off your printer then press the left, down arrow and enter simultaneously then power on the printer. inside initialize the sponge and cleaner then turn off and on your printer. note: you will have to replace your pump cap assy. if it is already poor in cleaning otherwise your printhead will suffer.
