What does Dr in use mean in the receive mode. we were trying to get fax only instead of MNL,and we can only get MNL and Dr mode in use

The machine is set for manual (MNL) answering - hit "receive mode" until is says "fax only" or "Fax/tel" etc. depending on what mode you want the machine to work in again.
Just resolved the same problem on mine.

Probablt MNL means manual receive. Therefore the machine will only receive if you lift the handset and press the start button.

MNL indicates the fax is set for manual reception, you have to press "start" to receive the fax. There should be a button on the control panel for reception mode, press the button until it says auto or fax or fax only. If you do not have the manual, you can go to brother-usa.com and look for downloads.
