I Have Asus P5PE-VM motherboard and windows vista ultimate 32 bit installed on my pc. My SoundMAX Audio Driver didn't support this OS version plz help me

In this case if your sound max did not support your OS you need to Install the lower version of OS which is compatible to your soundmax driver, because higher version did not support the other driver,

No sound, will not recognize any driver.

Under hardware manager untinstall the sound device and reboot. When back into windows do not allow the Found New Hardware Wizard to run. Go to HP's Website and download the appropiate sound driver for your system.

Dell speakers

Chances are that when you deleted Soundmax, you deleted the drivers as well. I am going to assume that you 'deleted' the "Soundmax" entry from your Add/Remove Programs console or chose "Uninstall" from the Soundmax folder in your start menu.

The problem is not your speakers. The problem is the audio hardware. I'm willing to bet that you don't have any drivers installed for your Soundmax audio hardware.

More often than not, when you uninstall the software for your audio hardware, it also removes the drivers for the audio hardware.

I would try re-downloading the drivers for your Soundmax hardware and reinstall them.

Soundmax Drivers:

I am also aware that this Soundmax chip was licensed to a different company by Realtek. (They designed the chip.) You can also try the Realtek AC'97 audio chip drivers. There may be a few differences in the way the software works, though. Here you go:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#AC

I myself would recommend the Realtek Drivers. However, I also have an experience with this particular chipset where I installed the drivers in Windows XP Service Pack 1 or below and they worked just fine. But if I installed the drivers in Windows XP Service Pack 2, the system just reboots itself over and over again unless I use Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers.

Instead of fighting with that issue, however... I just put in a different soundcard and deactivated the onboard audio hardware in the motherboard's BIOS.

Just a heads up on that...

Good luck with this. Let us know what happens if you need more help.
