I am having a strip dark line when i do my photocopy

If this problem is happening only when you are copying and not printing, then you can narrow down the problem to the optics area. If you are using the doc feeder to copy, then I would check the small **** glass that the copies slide over; often times dirt or debris can get stuck there and cause horizontal or vertical banding (depending on the orientation of the original.)

Let me know.

I recently changed my copiers toner (the change toner light came on) and now my copies are uneven (alternating in light and dark patterns). I properly shook the toner, I even returned the toner to get a...

The light and dark banding going horizontally accross the page is usually caused by the drum unit. This is the smaller of the 2 cartridges and it sits just to the right of where the toner sits. If you have a spare drum unit, replace it. This should resolve the problem. The Toner cartridge can also caus this but if you have tried 2 DIFFERENT units with the same banding then it must not be the toner.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Initially getting a few horizontal dark lines on copied page, now beginning to get longitudinal lines as well. Not sure where to start..

Lines that are thin are usually caused by white out or ink or just dust on the exposure thin **** glass, clean it with alcohol or windex. Other lines could be caused by dirty charge units, there should be a rod you can slide out and in when you open the front door to clean that. If the hot fuser rollers are damaged that also can cause dark lines

Dark horizontal lines appear across copies

This is usually caused by a dirty main charger grid, try cleaning it per the instructions in your operators guide. If you don't have the guide you may be able to download one from the Minolta Website at

Rear projection TV (LG 44SZ51): Horizontal dark band on upper screen field

The LG 44SZ21RB Have a problem with their light tunnel collasping due to the heat from the lamp. They are available as a spare part @ LG and would also require some silicon adhesive to bond it into the assembly. Very tedious job for any technican (2-3 hrs). Lg will not release parts to the general public only to an authorised LG agent.

Horizontal White Banding

Most likely cause is that a roller has degraded during storeage. Measure the distance from the centre of the first band to the second and from the center of the second band to the third. If this dimesion is fairly constant you can work out exactly which roller is causing the problem. The most likely culprit will be the Photo Conductor Unit. This will give a large dimension - (approx the 29cm??) A service manual should give you the dimensions (circumferences) of the rollers within the machine. If you have a spare pcu around, put it in and see if it makes ANY difference.
