Sir try to check the cables connection at the back of your tv. and if you are using a digital receiver, try to use a dvd to check if there is a sound. If there is a sound the problem is the digital receiver, feel free to send feed back good day and best regards.

I had the same problem with a Sharp Aquos 40". Sound just for a second and the message all the time in the middle of the screen, no more sound.
I opened the TV and found a speaker cable (a black one) with the PVC isolation broken and the wire in contact with the chassis. I just isolated it, the sound came back and no more error message.

Sharp warranty is the way to go.

is the picture and sound perfect while its on? how long ago did you buy it? under warrantee? if picture and sound is perfect while its on powersupply may be failing, i would get it in for service before something cooks itself.

Check the settings in the TV set for HDMI sound on the input of the TV that you are using. Try another HDMI cable. It may be defective.

It is also possible that there is a compatiblity problem for the HDMI sound between the TV and the computer's sound protocol.
