SOURCE: Camcorder Error

I had the same problem with my Viewcam Z. I couln't do anything with it anymore. Eventually got so annoyed that i actually called sharp to figure this thing out. From what technical support told me when you see E007 that means that there is some internal malfunction and the only way to repair the camera is to take it to a SHARP technition. so the question is would you pay alot of money to get this low end camera fixed?? i wouldn't..

SOURCE: Replacement charger for Sharp Viewcam VL-Z3

As long as you can obtain a charger that is rated the same as the one for your camera it will not be a problem unless the original charger is a microprocessor controlled charger that has the ability to control and change the charging current as the battery charges.
A camera shop can check this out for you.
If it just a simple AC or DC charger, then you can simply use the connector from your original charger and join it either by soldering or with a screw terminal block(which you wrap in Insulating tape once fitted).
The main thing you need to be CERTAIN of is as to whether the original charger is an AC or a DC type.
This will be clearly indicated on the label on the charger.

SOURCE: what type of cassette do i need for a sharp VL-A10

You need to use a tape that says 8mm or Video8 only. I have provided a link to the type of tape that we would use.

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MP-Video8-tape-120min/dp/B0009WUCG6/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1284056100&sr=1-7

There are tapes that say Hi8 and Dig8 on them. These tapes will not work properly in your camcorder because they are the wrong format. Your camcorder would probably chew the tape at some point if you tried to use this kind.

Hope this has helped.

Why doi have grey lines across my Sharp camcorder VL z7 when It on play back. Theres sound breakage as well. Can someone tell me why?

Do you get the grey line when you play back incamera ?
Have you transferred the file outside the camcorder ?

If you get the grey line in both, invariably the recording head needs cleaning.

Power on the ViewCam.
Eject the tape.
Use a soft lint free cloth and generally clean the head.
The head of the large metallic cylindrical thing placed slightly titled.
It is right at the bottom of the camera beyond those small posts.
If your finger cannot approach, use a swab with mild spirit/alcohol.
Let it dry a minute and then record a fresh material and try.
Please reply if it helped or not.

These units are getting old. Sound as though some capacitors are going out. Repair bill could go to around $300. Consider a new camcorder.

I can't get a picture on my television when I have my Viewcam connected into my VCR.

Make sure the Viewcam is connected (cable supplied) to an A/V input on your VCR. Set your VCR to the Line In or Auxiliary mode. Turn the Viewcam to Camera or VCR mode if playing back tape. Viewcam image should appear, if not call 1-BE-SHARP.
