Remove thread jammed in bobbin case holder

Remove your bobbin. You will have to get the thread pulled out; with force probably. Under the bobbin there is the hook which you will probably needd to be removed also. Anyway, get this mess out and put a drop of oil on the race (under the hook). Your bobbin case has to be adjusted so the thread will move with some force.(Try to adjust the pull with the upper tension set at 4). The top thread has to move with some tension - set at 4 is a get setting. Anyway, the upper and lower setting should be an even tension.

Besides installing a brand new needle (which you've already done), unthread the top thread. (Cut the thread below the spool, raise the presser foot, and pull the thread DOWN from the thread tail end--NEVER PULL thread UP!)

ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the top thread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Set the upper tension to the midway point and then tweak it so both threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

Only thing is to remove the bobbin, bobbin holder if you can, the feed dog cover plate, and then, using a magnifying lamp and a fine pointed pair of tweezers, try and locate the bits of cotton and pull gently out while rotating the hand wheel slowly, rocking it back and forth. Use an air blaster can to blow fluff out, clean, and oil. Including inside the bobbin case.

A jammed machine is caused by thread being caught in the hook. Remove the upper thread and the bobbin case, turn the hand wheel towards you (counterclockwise) by hand and remove any thread in the bobbin case area. *Always turn the hand wheel towards you. Turning the hand wheel away from you (clockwise) can cause the machines timing to become unaligned and jam your machine. Also, always make sure the presser foot is in the down position before you start sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will jam your machine in the bobbin case.

Well you may please follow the steps below -
1. Remove the bobbin from the sewing machine. Note: whether you have a drop-in, front or side-loading bobbin on your sewing machine. A drop in bobbin will load from the top, may be via a removable bobbin case cover near the machine-fed dogs. A side or front loading bobbin needs to be loaded into a removable bobbin case under the machine.
2. Choose the right size bobbin for the sewing machine.
3. Wind thread onto your bobbin. Your sewing machine should have a standard thread spool to hold the thread and a short, squat post wide enough for a bobbin.
4. Put the thread and empty bobbin into position on your sewing machine. Wrap the thread around the bobbin to start it. On most machines, disengage the needle by turning the smaller hand-wheel on the machine toward you. Push the bobbin post into position, securing the bobbin into place. Press gently down. Thread should begin to wind neatly onto your bobbin.
5. Break the thread, push the bobbin post back into an inactive position and remove the bobbin. Tighten the hand-wheel. Thread your sewing machine again if necessary before loading the bobbin.
6. Remove the bobbin case cover and put the bobbin into position. The thread should slide through a catch on the bobbin case and up through the cover.
7. Access the bobbin case for a front or side mount bobbin. Lift the catch and remove the removable bobbin holder. Put the bobbin into the holder and run the thread through the holder, bringing it to the front. Lift the catch and slide the bobbin holder back into the case. Hold your needle thread gently forward with your left hand and turn the hand-wheel. The needle thread will pass down into the machine and catch a loop of the bobbin thread. Pull this loop up and slide both threads to the back before beginning to sew.

You need to remove the bobbin from the "race" by following the instructions in the manual. Give it a good clean and remove any bits of fluff and thread. Remove the upper thread also andmake sure that the tension wheel is clear of any broken threads and is on the correct setting. It may have been threaded wrong. The hand wheel not turning sounds like the bobbin area is jammed also.

Thread is caught in the hook...Remove the upper thread and bobbin case...turn the hand wheel backwards and forwards by hand and remove the thread remands. Good Luck

Thread test
Test your thread quality to start, thread your machine and LIFT the presser foot (this opens the tension disks). Pull your top thread straight back. If you feel no tension no mater how much thread you pull, your thread is good. If that your machine passes that test, then let me know, we can go to step 2. If not, try different spool of thread, same test until you get a smooth pull (tip: always check your thread this way when you thread your machine)
Step 2:
Pull on your threaded bobbin thread while it’s in the machine. Does it pull smooth and even? If so, go to step 3. If not, try a new bobbin (bobbins get bent or distorted if wound too tight).
Clean thoroughly in the hook and bobbin case area and oil 1-2 drop is all.
Thread knotting on the bobbin can be a lot of things but here's some guidance:
Tension:
If the thread is loose on the bottom of the fabric, it's actually the top thread is too loose. Think of 2 little elves playing tug of war in your machine, one on toip and one underneath. If you have loops on bottom, the top needs to pull harder (tighten top tension)
Jamming bobbin case:
If it is damaged from turning out of place once, it could have rough spots on it that makes the thread hang on it, and keeps making it turn over and over. Use a finger nail board (fine sanding) and smoothall rough spots. Then reset the bobbin case taking care to put the notch in the bobbin case in alignment with the proper spot in the machine (basically 5 o’clock) when looking at the round area where the bobbin case goes.

This has happened to me, even though I have been sewing for 30 yrs. When I take the bobbin holder out I realise what I have done wrong. When placing a bobbin into the bobbin holder the thread must be running around the bobbin CLOCKWISE. If incorrect take bobbin out of holder turn it over, so now the thread will run clockwise.If bobbin placed in holder and thread runs anti-clockwise, when you tried to turn wheel to bring bobbin thread up, it will either not do it at all or will make a huge tangle of the threads.
