If you are in the U.S. all stations broadcast in digital. if you don't have a digital tv then you need a converter. So maybe you want to know how to go from cable to air antenna? You should be able to buy an antenna and roll of coax. Fasten the coax to the antenna and plug in to the back of the TV. Point the antenna in the direction of the tv station, I think some TV's may have a setting to air antenna, set to air. It should not receive a picture.

We have a prizmo tv and I want to get just local channels. bought a antenna. then what?

You need to look for the settings for the input type. It is usually cable or antenna (digital). Switch to antenna.
Then you need to look for 'auto find' channels, so it can scan to locate and set the channels in your area.

Your TV must have an internal digital TV tuner (ATSC) in order to get new digital broadcasts.

Antenna unrecognized.

Sometimes the TV will lock out other inputs when a cable is connected. Try the antenna by itself and put the TV in Channel scan mode. If this works reconnect the cable TV cable. If that doesn't work you may need an A/B switch

How Do I get my tv to pickup local digital channels? I've been at it all day no luck someone please help me!

Hey Bobby, even though local channels for most places switched from analog to digital you still need an antenna. A digital antenna to be more precise. Advice: don't just get a digital antenna box, look for one that has an antenna on it. You can get some for $50 that will provide crystal clear picture. Speaking from experience. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Indoor antenna won't work on my cable ready set

You do have to make sure to switch the settings to an external antenna. You also will have to check that you have what is an analog signal available to you. If you antenna is analog it will only get analog broadcast. You may also need to switch to a digital tv antenna, The other thing is the range of you antenna. Most indoors, in a congested area will only pull in signal from about 20 to 25 miles out.

Hello, I am currently having a problem with my Audiosonic KM0767 Standard Definition Set Top Box. When we first bought it we wired up all the plugs and it worked great. We then moved onto Foxtel...

did you switch the TV's incoming signal to digital antenna? For the cable box it was probably set to cable antenna or analog inputs, not all TV's have automatic switching for antenna feeds. My Mitsubishi has 1 digital and 1 analog antenna input and the cable box will only work through the antenna input if it's the analog antenna input and it's tuned to channel 3 or 4, -(or through a seprate HDMI, PROSCAN, SVCR,or a yellow RCA plug input)- and when the analog antenna input is selected the TV will tune all analog cable channels that the cable service offers if a box is not used. likewise the TV will not tune any channels at all if it's set to digital antenna inputs. It will tune all local channels only when set to digital antenna inputs.

Samsung hlp 4663w does not receive off air signal from roof antenna through antenna ports 1 or 2. Get cable signal just fine through same ports. Same antenna works fine on other tvs. Whats the problem and...

If you're in the US, you will no longer get antenna signals because the US has recently switched to digital. The TV you have does not have a digital tuner and you'll need to purchase a digital converter box that converts a band of analog signal to digital.

I have tried 4 different antennas for my tv/dvd combo and cannot get all local channes. Need help

since the digital switch a few months ago, regular rabbit ear antennas wont work to pick up stations who are now broadcasting all digitally. make sure you are using the right antenna. one of the major retail stores can point you in the right direction. also, if you have the right antenna, run a scan for the channels. the frequencies may be a little different since the switch.

Locked out of digital antenna in setup. I had it

1. ensure that you are on the TV tuner when you are trying to scan channels
2. if analog tuner works, but you cannot access digital tuner....the digital tuner is broken

When you turned channels before, did it switch between analog and digital channels seamlessly or did you need to press a button to acces digital channels seperately?

If you accesed digital channels seamlessly, #2 is not likely
If seperately, #2 is very likely.

Switching reception from analogto digital

You may not have to do anything.. Most TVs that can receive digital video over the air don't really need much to be set up for this. If not already-> Go to the TV's own setup menu and chose an option for TV/antenna setup. This will go up the dial and 'tune itself' to every available TV channel over the air (make sure you have an antenna of some kind- any antenna). Since analog will be gone (supposedly today) it should only tune to digital channels. If using a convertor box- there really isn't much to "switch", the analog channels will just go away.
