I hooked my ZR600 up to the charger cord after the batt. was completely dead. The charge light came on and blinked like normal. When I checked a few minutes later, it was off and now I have no power to the camera screen or any where else. I checked the batt. with an OHM meter and got an 8v reading. The camera charger shows an 8v reading and the camera batt.poles show that they connect when touched by the OHM wires.
Is ther a fuse or some other internal problem?
The camera is less than a year old and I love it. Please help!
I would like to fix it myself, if possible.
ps: the round batt. is ok too.
I have a jvc video camera that had no power. I got a new battery and charged it. It worked for a few minutes so I took battery out and a few days later installed the battery again, but had no power. What could be wrong with my camera. The old battery I had would be charged, but would have no power in short while after installing it also.
There are four little fuses on the mainboard but you wouldnt be able to repair them they would need to be fixed but there also could be a problem with the lens sometimes on that model that could cause the problem you have described sometimes when i repair a power cam problem it will act up again and the mainboard needs to be replaced its a good camera but a problem like that you should send it in if you still have a warranty or upgrade to a zr 830 or 850

I rechecked the battery and didn't have an 8v reading only a 5v. So it didn't charge very long before cutting out.
I've tried 3 different wall plug-ins with no betteer results.
Same problem. The video cam was plugged into the wrong charger.
I have a canon zr600 that does not activate with the battery and will not charge. I replaced the battery and still no luck. The battery I replaced it with was fully charged. Nothing wrong with the round battery either.
