It wont appear on the tv or pick up the controller signals

sounds like the avi board and graphic control is not working they are usually on the same power line on the main board. can you try the menu setting see if they come up on there avi ext1 etc.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT LAST NIGHT I PLACED THE TV NEAR THE FREEVIEW BOX AND THE TV JUST PICKED UP THE SIGNAL.A DIGITAL CHANNEL AT THAT ASWELL.NEAR PERFECT IMAGE.I DONT KNOW HOW THIS COULD BE ADAPTED TO USE THE PORTABLE AWAY FROM OFF THE FREEVIEW BOX.ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Have the Pick up coil tested. Take it in or try the following.
A pick-up coil, technically known as a stator, provides a low-voltage digital on-off signal to the ignition control module where it is interpreted as an RPM signal, also called PIP or profile ignition pick-up. The ignition module uses that info to decide when to fire the ignition coil. This signal from the pick-up is most likely a ground signal, but I suppose some systems might switch the positive on and off. You will have to use a special low-voltage test light(a regular 12 volt test light will not do), find the signal output wire from the pick-up, and measure the output while the engine is being cranked. You should see an on-off pulse indicated by the light blinking on and off. Remember, this is providing the stator has it's power supply and ground needed to operate, and that the distributor is turning as needed while the engine is being cranked.

Well, remember that in USA all olds tv do not can receive signal because the new signal transmitting is in high-definition and old equipment do not receive that kind of signal.

There's several possibilities here:

1. You could have the cable plugged into the wrong port.

2. How old is the TV? If it isn't brand new, It's probably analog, and won't work if you're trying to pick up an antenna signal. For that, you'd have to buy a digital converter.

3. Do you have a cable box? If so, your TV should be set to one of the "Video" channels, not the numbered ones. Try hitting "TV/Video" on your remote until you see a picture. Make sure your cable box is on.

4. Everything else would pretty much boil down to poor signal, or broken equipment. Call your cable company if you have cable to determine if it's a signal issue.

The tv is a 2k model - I have the same one, digital is now 8k so it won't work digitally anymore.

try the Funai codes look on the back of your tv and see if Funai made it if so try ther codes. My Magnavox converter box wont pick up chanel 10 here for some reasion says no signal.works ok on all of the other chanels. Now if you have the orginal remote you should be able to go into the menu and go to add/delet and add that chanel to the scan if it has been deleted for some reasion.

Its probably the buttons (hopefully) you can open the tv and disconnect this control panel most of the time. Sometimes the remote (IR) signals go through this board. If the problem continues without board connected, its likely the main board = more expensive (100-300 $ part)

just keep moving the satellite dish untill its in a perfect position.
