4GB card shows only 500MB of space - SanDisk ULTRA II 4GB Compact Flash Card Flash

Where is the 500MB located at? You might have space on your external card but not on your device and apps are loaded onto the device.

Sometime flash drives just go bad.

you should scan it .

there is an overhead for the space on a drive, the system needs a File Allocation Table and other administrative information, so the total 4 GB is usually not 100% available. It would not work properly without this "administrative" space.

Reformat with this utility.

Set your memory card as your primary storage. Probably, you have set your phones memory as your primary storage.

The problem you are talking about is most probably of the virus infection. Try to format your pen drive in your system and you can restore back your pen drive.

This is a known issue with mac. If you have a windows based pc, plug the usb there and delete all the files. You will be surprised to see that there are remnant files in there from mac.

The reason that you are only showing 3806 is because 4Gb is the "UNFORMATTED" capacity of the card, and 3.8Gb is the "FORMATTED" capacity of the card. The .2 or so Gb of space gone is taken by the system information for the card to work w/ the operating system. You can see here for more info, but don't worry there is nothing wrong w/ the card you have.

Is this a brand new phone? If there's nothing saved in your memory card, you may want to reformat the memory card to see if that helps.

Once you purchase a memory card (example: 4GB) and you insert it to the phone, once you check the memory status, you will never see that the available space is 4GB. It will show for about 3.98GB available and that's normal.

But 44MB is a big space and I believe that reformatting the memory card will help.
