The Freezer freezes...and so does the Refrigerator!

My 6mo old LG Side by Side refrigerator has developed a problem. The refrigerator side thinks it is the freezer and is freezing everything. everything on the shelves, in the crisper drawers...everything is now frozen solid! I spoke with customer service and did everything they suggested...the temperature control is at the lowest setting, the air vents in the freezer side are unblocked and clear, and the sensors are clear, but everything is still freezing. HELP!!!

Just had the second one delivered Sat Dec 2nd ( of the new model with full length handles) after the first one split the liner in the freezer compartment. This one has the fridge freezing problem. Has been on lowest setting for 2 days and it started to freeze a fresh jug of water over night. (Make an excellent beer fridge). Have just tried turning it off for 20 mins hoping that turning back on might reset the electronic temp function. 2 from 2 in 10 days not looking good

Further to 2 in 10 days freezer temp -18c fridge temp -5.5c most items in fridge reading 0 to -1 with infra red temp reader

The display goes blank, except there are two light on in the refrigerator temp setting. Then everything in the refreigerator side freezes. I unplug, and that solves the problem for a day, then back it is to the frozen fridge.

Bought our LG 01/01/07 and for 9 mos. it was fine. Have had nothing but problems since. First the LOUD roaring noise came and lasted about a week (open door & noise quit but started again when door was closed). Had repairman out and it was fixed for about 1 month then the outside door panel lights went (no ice just water available) and the frig side started freezing. Had this worked fixed for about 1 month. November everything started all over again. Fixed about about 2 wks. and then again 1st of this year (08) it started all over again. Finally, repairman said enough is enough and we are getting a new frig on Tues. Feb. 05. After reading the other statements being made I am no longer excited. We will see....

Fridge bout 9 months old. It has been freezing up since about 2 months old. I first thought it was because the kids stood and looked in, allowing too much humidity in. That problem "fixed", I realized either the defrost timer or heat strips bad. Same "loud roaring", thats ice build up around the circulating fan. Also, VERY low ice production. I have contacted a svc tech, since my unit is still under warranty. I hope I don't have to fix it myself and pay.

Wow, for those contemplating to buy LG.... their refrigerator seems to have this freezing problem on the fridge side. Ours have the same issue and started gradually. Now after a year, we are getting ice on our food specifically on the left side closest to the freezer. Very frustrating because the LG technicians do not know how to fix it.

Lg side by side refridgerator ice maker

you can adjust the control for the freezer side to a colder setting think of the freezer control as a door warmer setting door open farther colder setting door farther closed the fridge control is electric that runs the compresser can turn fridge down to creat more cooling freezer or set freezer to colder setting it is a balancing
act have actually closed freezer control to coldest setting and had items freeze in the fridge side where air from freezer first enters fridge a lower temp in freezer should help ice production

My fridge keeps freezing my food

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Top freezer develops ice on left bottom side.

it has to be connected other wise its true that ice will get collected.because the compressor will give its coldness in refrigerator so the cold air of freezer will also get collected in refrigerator side, because there is no ice dispenser connected.connect the icedispenser.
to make it proper.
