Unfortunately, at this time, you don't unless it is a powerful station local to you. In order to see which stations are available to you, you would enter the Setup menu of your tv, and then the section that allows you to scan for channels.
Also, digital cable alone doesn't guarantee you'll get HD signal. You would have to order an HD package from your cable or satellite provider. For example, Comcast touts their digital package as if it were vastly superior to the "standard" signal. Whether or not it is would be a matter of opinion, but the digital package is not HDTV. This misconception has disappointed many a subscriber, myself included (until I ordered the HD package). :^ )

This is a known fault on this panel and the samsung.
replacing the separate hd tuning block that connects to the main board will fix this problem.

My Insignia hd 1080p tv is only receiving at 720p. I am using HDMI cables and a telus hd tv box. How do I get it to receive at the full 1080p?

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but there is very little 1080p content available to be viewed on your television. Telus TV outputs only 720p or 1080i video, so you are getting the best available picture already. The exception is Blu-ray, where almost all content is played at 1080p if you use an HDMI cable.

We just purchased a 32

Hi. One suggestion would be change the leads going to your digital soure. (if you have cable or what not) If it is scart or HDMI you need a gold platted lead with each individual wire insulated. belkin and pure av make these leads which should be availble at all electrical retailers. If you are only recieving an analog signal there is nothing you can do unless you upgrade to digital. Hope this helps!

No Non-Hd sound

In a nutshell, there is no solution to this problem. The new Insignia TVs have a compatibilty issue with certain HDMI connections. The best thing is to return the TV and purchase another brand. I bought the LG w/built-in DVD and everything works great.

Best Buy owns some of the brands it sells. Best Buy currently has five private labels which include Insignia, Dynex, Init, Geek Squad, and Rocketfish. Insignia focuses on electronic equipment, including televisions, monitors, car stereos, home theater systems, and portable video and audio players.

The Best Buy televisions are made with substandard components. They are not produced with the same standard the orginal manufacture items.

With the factor of substandard pieces and flash/firmware glitches; it sound like you have a software problem.

I would contact the manufacture ASAP and have a field tech come by to update your television.

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.
