It sound like the plastic tube is cracked at the valve. After a while the tubing gets brittle and cracks. This is usually easily fixed by getting a quick connect plastic tubing couple and some tubing in the size of the tubing that cracked.

SOURCE: the Water dispenser is leaking water

It's either a bad water valve or the switch in the dispenser is stuck.

SOURCE: Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Either your water tank in the fridge froze up, the waterline that goes up the freezer door from the bottom hinge froze, or the switch that your glass hits is damaged. Do you hear any humming or noises when you put your glass up to get water?

SOURCE: Water leaks from tube at the bottom of fridge for water dispenser only

If it is a plastic compression fitting you can tighten each one a little(careful not to tighten them too much cause they can strip out) Use a small crescent wrench with a back up wrench.

SOURCE: water dispenser system

the dispenser in the freezer door has a small low temp heater surrounding the dispenser compartment to keep this from happening, and also to keep condensation from building up around the dispenser. this heater may have stopped working.

There is 2 different place they freeze up inside door water line for cold water dispenser & water feed to ice maker.
for cold water disp. Water line depends on model # will start at bottom of door loop over the disp. control and back down from top of control to cup area to defrost this line best way is to shut down ref and leave door on freezer open can take up to 12 hours.
taking door apart is a major project.
If its your ice maker fill tube easy fix turn water supply off.
on back of ref. there is a water line going up to the top of freezer
this tube will pull out from back the whole fill tube will come out
take to sink thaw with warm water replace tube You may need some caulk to seal area tube meet ref.

What can be done to fix this without having to change whole unit?. - "water from nozzle from door dispenser assembly 4200960 of subzero s690 is spewing out on to kitchen floor instead of vertically down...

Hi,

Remove the dispense and reinstall the waterline back into dispenser housing. Make sure the this is the only source of the water issue you have. The tube can slid back into the dispenser and cause the water to run behind the assembly. this is rare thought for the only way this could happen is the dispenser was replaced and the hose was not reinstalled correctly.

Good Luck

About once a week I find a small puddle of water on my floor in front of my Kenmore Elite refrigerator (bottom freezer, no ice maker). What should I do?

Sounds like cooling coils inside ref. that cools the water before the dispenser in the door.
These coils are in the back bottom of ref, behind crispers. They may be leaking.
Here is some more help.

REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

I would really like some help with hooking up the ice maker. The line is there bit no ice or cold water, water is warm. Can you hep?

Hello,

The routing of the water line is
house water supply into built i filter on refrig,
out of the filter into the water inlet valve on back of ref,
larger dimeter tube from valve into water tank behind crispers in ref, chills water, out to door,
smaller diameter tube from valve into icemaker

seeing where you said all lines are in place i believe the issue is that the refrig isn't properly cooling? the first to affected when not cooling is icemaker/water dispenser

Hope this helps

Refrigerator leak

the water fill tube for i/m is on the back of ref. the tube you have is to the water dispenser. look in freezer floor, is it full of ice? if so, remove all ice and clear drain hole for evap. if not, reassemble what you took apart and inspect tube under ref. while someone runs water dispenser. find leak and repair.

How to install the water hose

you have to have a ice maker install kit that you you can buy at any hardware store if you dont have a water source in the wall behind the ref.(if you have it in the wall you will need a ice maker hose only) but if you have to buy the kit it has a tap valve that you put on the COLD water supply under the sink if you have pvc, poly or quest you will need a special tee. route tubing so it wont interfere with foot traffic to behind the ref. the kit will have a brass nut and a flange put the nut over the tubing then put flange inside the end of the tubing the locate water inlet valve on ref.screw nut onto capped end of valve (remove cap first) then turn on the water and bleed water through ref.using water dispenser on the door until you get water then enjoy. oh kit has instructions in it also good luck
