-Turn on and off airplane mode
-Use mobile data rather than wifi
-Reset network settings
-Restart device
-Reinstall whatsapp
-Reset device to factory settings

Certain Cell phones Service Providers do not offer Photos Message Service (only Text Message)
Check with your Service Provider first. IF Not, use other apps like WhatsApp or the like to send and receive pictures, music, etc with your existing service

I tried all of these and they didnt work, but this did for me and a friend of mine..... 1. go to your main messages folder where all messages go including emails and calls. 2. locate a past conversation over whatsapp (highlighted in green) and open it. 3. send a message to the contact whilst on the whatsapp conversation. 4. come out of it completely and now you should be able to open whatsapp :D
(you may have to set the mail box to display SMS/MMS on the options>inbox settings)
i had error uncaught exception string index out of range 29. but t works the same way for all XD hope this helps!!
