How do I set up a new contact group in Outlook?

I click on New Group, Add members, From Outlook contacts, type the name, double click and the name shows up at the bottom and on the group list. They I click on Save and Close at the top and sometimes it saves and sometimes it doesn't; I often get the message that I can't save it since someone else is using the name or the program - I'm defeated and frustrated!

SOURCE: change display of contacts to first name, last name in outlook 2003

In most phones, there is an 'options' or 'preferences' in the address book that allows you to sort by first name, last name, etc.

As far as Outlook goes, when you are in the contacts tab, there is a link on the left that says "customize current view". Click on this and you can select fields to pick what fields you want displayed or select sort to pick how they are displayed.

SOURCE: addresses in outlook express

When adding Contacts to your Outlook Express, add the Display Name and Email address (double check that the email address is accurate) then, press the save button at the bottom of the screen on the right hand side. By pressing the Add button, you are telling the program that you wish to add a second email address for this person (Contact) and this may be what is causing your issue when trying to access contacts. Give it a try and if it works, please rate my response. Thanks!

How do I set up speed dialing on my HP Officejet 5740

While "Speed Dialing" or "Speed Dial" is listed in its fax specifications on some sites, it appears to be a mislabeled categorization of its group fax feature as HP's manual makes no other mention of it--save to say, the "fax to multiple numbers" (or multiple recipients) feature. There does not appear to be a speed dial list, but there is a phone book feature for adding contacts (individual numbers) & groups. (The following is detailed in a more explanatory way on pages 65-66 of the user's manual (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Officejet-5740-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/6617253/model/6617254/manuals?cc=us&lang=en).

1. From the printer control display, touch Fax.
2. Touch Send Now.
3. Touch the telephone symbol to access its phone book feature.
4. Touch the person symbol for a phone book contact; or touch the multiple person symbol for a group of phone book contacts.
(Note: Contacts should be established before any of these could be added to any group.)
5. Touch + (plus sign) to add a contact/group; or touch the gear symbol (edit) to edit/delete a contact/group.
6. Touch Name.
7. Changes to contacts/groups:
•Adding a contact/group: type the name, & then touch Done.
••Adding a fax number to a contact: Touch Fax Number, enter this contact's fax number, & touch "Create".
••Adding a contact to a group: Touch Number of Members, select all of the contacts to add to this group from this printer's phone book, & touch Select followed by touching "Create".

•Editing: Select the contact/group name, & then touch Done. Then...
••Editing a Contact: touch Fax Number, enter the fax number, & touch Done.
••Editing a Group: touch Number of Members & deselect the contacts to remove from this group or touch + (plus sign) to add contacts to this group. Then touch Done.

•Deleting a contact/group: Select the name, & then touch Delete followed by touching Yes.

How to assign a different ring tone for specific contacts on Nokia 5230

Groups can contain any number of contacts, and even just a single member, so you could, for instance, have one ringtone for family members, one for work colleagues and one for your partner.
To create a group, assign a ringtone and image and then select a group's members, follow these instructions:
  • From the main menu, highlight Contacts and click Select.
  • Highlight Groups and click Select.
  • Click Add (or if you have already added groups, click Options, highlight Add new group and click Select).
  • Enter a name for the group and click OK.
  • Highlight the group's name in the list and click Options.
  • Highlight Group details and click Select.
  • Highlight Group ringing tone and click Select
  • Highlight Open Gallery, click Select, locate the ringtone in your gallery and click Select to apply.
  • Highlight Group image and click Select.
  • Click Add, highlight From Gallery, click Select, locate the image in your gallery and click Select.
  • Now highlight Group members and click Select. Click Add and your contacts list will open. Highlight the contacts you want to add to the group and click Select. You can add as many contacts as you like to each group.
If you want to add contacts to an existing group, highlight the group's name on the Groups screen, click View and click Add to display your contacts list. Highlight a contact and click Select to add them.

LG Dare - can not delete empty group contact. Does anyone know how? When the contact group is empty, there is no option tab that will allow me to choose to delete it, there is only an "add" tab.

Goto Contacts -> Groups

Click on the icon to the left of the group name a check mark will appear.
At the bottom, right of the screen the options menu icon will appear.
Click on options and either erase the group or rename it.

This can be done with new and default groups.

ONLY 10 MEMBERS IN A GROUP!

Good luck.

I need a manual for a blackberry 8700 c

You should be able to do this by going into contacts, hit the menu button, then choose Add New Group, enter a name for the group, then hit the menu key again. Choose Add Member, and select the people you want in your list!

By the way, you have to have the people already saved in the phone to add them to a group.

Hope this helps!
