This is due to a firmware problem. It is common. You can send it in to manufacture and they will repair it for $50 or you may get lucky enough to find an update on the web.
The lens has a servo fault. This can be either the lens motor, the helicoil in the lens is jamming, or the servo drive electronics has a fault.
You will have to send the camera for service if you want to fix this. I doubt you can fix this yourself unless you have access to the parts, and have the training and tools to do this type of service.
On my Casio Ddigital Camera the lens comes out when I press the open button but then it shows LENS ERROR and shuts down again. Please advise what the problem could be. Thank you.
