I can't find a Tippy typewriter. Alder has Tippa, Tippa 1 and Tippa S models. This site has the manuals for some Alder typewriters:http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/tw-manuals.html . use regular or coarsely ground coffee. Put in about a scoop of coffee for every 6oz of water (depending on how strong you like it) Pour in water that is just under boiling, don't fill to the tippy top. Make sure all coffee is thoroughly wet, you can stir it with a spoon.
Put the lid on, pushing the plunger just enough to set it into the pot about 1/4". Wait 4 minutes, then very slowly push down on the plunger until it is all the way down. Now taste the best coffee you can get besides espresso!

change standard seat for a slimmer seat or remove some internal padding iuse a thinner corsa seat from v.e. uk allso wear proper boots with a thicker tread and slide to the front of the seat when stopping it helps as i am small your balancing skills will allso improve

If it is tripping out a re-settable switch then you have an earth leakage problem.

First thing , have you checked that the plug wiring has not come loose with the machine vibration

There could be a water leak inside the machine allowing dampness to get on a connection or a heater rod which has a slight crack in the outer casing causing it to run to earth when it warms up the water

Neither problem is a DIY job sorry
