Hoover carpet cleaner not picking up water

Assure the ring gasket is in place under the hood. A round rubber gasket must be in place on the round tube under the hood where the recovery tank sits to connect the vacuum from the motor to the round tube on the bottom of the tank.

In addition, make sure the recovery tank lid is properly aligned to the tank to seal.

Lastly, make sure the square duct is latched in place in front of the recovery tank, that links the nozzle plate to the tank lid.

No water in the drain tank so is not picking up the water. What???

Two checks:
(1) Is the lid sealed to the recovery tank at the black lid gasket?
(2) Is the round seal gasket in place on the suction tube, under the hood? That tubular pipe seals to the tube on the bottom of the recovery tank.

My hoover steam cleaner will not pick up the water the machine pu

Two checks:
(1) Is the lid aligned and sealed to the recovery tank
(2) Is the round rubber gasket installed on the tubular post under the hood, where the tank seals to the base? The tube extending down from the tank must sit on the rubber seal to get vacuum from the motor.

Auto-matic suction shut-off didn't resume once tank was emptied

look on the bottom of the tank and there should be a fitting on there take it off and clean..there should be some hind of float inside the tank.turn it right side up and tap on the tank the float might be stuck

My carpet cleaner will not pick up water.

Check to make sure that the recovery tank lid is fastened down all of the way around. Also if the foam filter on the bottom of the tank lid, make sure there is at least a 1/4 inch gap from the top of the lid. The wire screen filter is plugged, from the bottom, it has a red frame, pull it out far enough to clean it. These are the causes for non-suction.
