On start up all colours project well but when my computer 1 or 2 source is found the projector has a bright yellow hugh over the entire screen. It looks like there is a yellow filter over the lamp. It projects a normal bright blue on start up and then the toshiba pattern in all colours.

No image on projector screen from laptop VGA connection

On most laptops you have to select Function F8 to direct output to the projector or the projector and the laptop display.

I have a Sanyo projector that shows a completely blue image - I can see the computer image but it is completely blue - Whet I press the menu button the normal colours come up for the menu

it sounds like the wire you are using to connect your PC to projector is bad

if color is normal when menu comes up then it is not projector unless the input for your PC is bad

i would try new cable first since that would be cheapest

do other sources in other inputs work???

When the projector is switched on with the visualiser the light on the wall screen from the projector is yellowy/green instead of the usual white light on the screen, this can alternate several times...

Generally speaking, if you have discoloration that changes during use, you will find that it's due to one or more of your cables either not being connected properly or being damaged.

The first thing I need to ask is whether or not you have this same discoloration when the projector is not connected to anything. If so, the problem is internal and I can't really help there except to tell you to contact a technician.

However, if the image color is fine when the projector is not connected to anything, the problem is definitely a cable or connection issue. That being said, try the following steps:

1) Check all your connections and make sure everything is firmly connected. Discoloration can occur from your cables only making partial contact. Also, while you do this, observe the ends of the cables themselves to make sure they are undamaged.

2) Flex your cables, starting at one end and moving slowly to the other. If you have a damaged wire, the image should change color/flicker/or even disappear entirely when you reach the damaged portion.

3) If that did not work, replace your cabling with a spare. If that solves your problem, then the old cable is damaged/defective and should be disposed of.

4) Normally, I would tell you to also check the settings in the menu as well, but if the image changes color during use, it's not a settings issue.

I hope that helps.

Toshiba TDP-P5, used unit. Startup image comes up ok. When PC is hooked up, the image does does not change from startup. Cables test okay on other projectors, the video port on the PC is working ok on with...

Try pushing the source/select button to make the projector look for a source. It is the button that looks like a bent arrow right in the middle of the 4 arrow buttons.

Enable graphics port for projector image

Once you get the cables attched in the correct order RCB cable from the vga port on the laptop to the projector and the audio cable connected. Use function key combination Fn + F7 to toggle through the video outputs. This toggles the video card to send the signal to the different sources.

If you need to zoom or magnify the image, the combination for that is Fn + F10. This actually changes the screens resolution, it will toggle through all the settings.

ok this problem occurs mostly due to the loose connection in the VGA cable between the pc and the projector..
try changing the cable to give any other input and see it and then confirm it... that the color sensor of the projector is weak...

Device Name

Laptops with a VGA output on the back shouldn?t need any type of ?device? for the projector to work. If its displaying an image with odd colors I would suspect a problem with the projector or the cable that connects them. The easiest way to determine if it?s the projector/cable or the laptop is try connecting it to another PC or laptop.
