It's a common problem. I put new bird seed in a baking pan and put it out on the patio for a few days. When the bugs hatch they're out doors.

How can you keep bird food from coming out of the cage

Hello, Brenda -

There are products named "seed catchers" and "seed guards" which one can purchase or mak. oneself

Just use your favorite search engine (Bing, Google, Yahoo Search, etc.) and enter these search phrases (separately), using quotation marks as shown:
"seed catcher"
"seed guard"

They do not keep seeds from coming out of a bird cage. Instead, they are designed to catch much of the debris from a bird cage. making clean up less messy.

Best wishes.

Should I change my birdfeeder food between summer and winter?

In the winter months there are no insects for birds to eat, so it is more important that they have an abundance of food in the feeder. As for what kinds of food, it can be the same seeds that you offer the birds in the summer.

Can birds eat pumpkin seeds?

Yes, they can. You can feed your pet bird pumpkin seeds that you bought from the store, or you can take them out of a pumpkin yourself, clean them, dry them, and lightly cook them in the oven on tin foil. it is healthy and birds do find it tasty, too.

What kind of seed should I put in my bird feeder?

1) Different birds like different kinds of seeds. For example, almost all birds enjoy sunflower seeds. Other popular seeds include safflower, corn, Millet, Milo, Nyjer and Suet. If you know of a certain species of bird that lives near you, you can check the chart on this website to see what seeds that bird enjoys.

What foods will help attract birds to my yard?

This depends on the species you want to attract; however there are some foods that are more likely to attract than others. Fruits, such as bruised apples/pears are a great way to attract birds, as well as mixed seeds containing sunflower seeds and flaked maize.

What food should I give my African grey?

African greys in the wild feed primarily on fruits and seeds, and palm nuts but captive-bred African Greys are fed a diet of seeds, grain, pellets and frits and vegetables. I would also recommend adding calcium to their diet by scraping the cuddlebones over their food or mixing grinded egg shells in their food.
