I am having trouble removing the glass cover on my harbor breeze 52'' avian ceiling fan so that I can replace the light bulb. I am trying to push up and turn the glass cover, but I think the whole light fixture is turning. The glass just keep turning and turning and does not come out. I am afraid that I will be twisting the wiring and break the wiring.
The Avian glass is removed by turning counter-clockwise. I just tried another person's answer and it worked. Had my wife hold the top portion (not the fan blades, they just spin) steady and I was able to turn it about 1/4 turn counter-clockwise, and it came off.The Avian glass is removed by turning counter-clockwise. Hey, hope you are doing well. I was able to source a replacement remote for you. The model number you are looking for is uc7080t for the replacement remote that works with the Harbor Breeze Yorkshire fan.
Two people required to do this, one to hold the fan and one to turn the glass. Goes counter clockwise. Try using a nonslip rubber pad or rubber gloves. It will come off. Before putting back spray with silicone spray where it latches glass to frame
I spoke with Harbor Breeze and finally received the answer. To get to the bulb, you need to push up slightly on the glass globe only. Not the metal ring around the glass. Then a slight turn counter-clockwise will allow the glass to drop down. It's a short 100W halogen bulb that's readily available at the hardware store. Also, in case you call Harbor Breeze, the item number for the LGF fan is #77461.
The glass unscrews (counter-clockwise) to access the light bulb. Can be helpful to have someone else hold the fan blades. Takes a 120v/100w halogen bulb. I put a 150w in mine to gain a little more brightness.
