My canon 5x optical zoom 16.0 is telling me Memory card locked

On an SD card there is a switch at the side which can be moved to protect the card contents (locked) or permit writing to the card (unlocked). Just move this to the unlocked position.

First try reseating the memory card, then try formatting the card using the camera o/s if that doesn't work replace the memory card

Write Protection: There is a tab on the memory card so you will you need to remove it from the camera and change the position of this tab to "unlock" it.
