I have a Hunter 2 wire fan and light control model 27186. The fan control works fine but the light control quit working. It will not turn the lights off when I press light control button. The green LED lights normally when I press the button, but the light bulbs do not turn off. Any ideas?

solution depends on how many wires are in the ceiling box. was there a ceiling fan in place before? were the light and fan controlled by seperate switches or was there only one switch? if two switches, then there should be two seperate hot wires in the ceiling box. if only one switch, then only one hot wire in box. if only one, then your black and red from the fan will wire together to the single hot. green goes to the bare copper wire, if not one, then not needed

copper to green , white to white , seperate the black and the black with th white tracer you wired together connect the black to the black and the black with white tracer to the red in ceiling , without looking this is my best advise ,good lk
SOURCE: Light remote control stopped working
most of my fan controls have done this to me. you know the reciever is working cuz the fan works fine. you need to dis assemble the remote completely and clean the contacts for the light button. mine are two small black dots that seem to keep getting slimey and wont work till i clean them, then all works like brand new again.
good luck.

remove watt governor for lights. ( little black box). and wire lights direct. this is your problem.watt governors are used to reduce light output or energy. just remove it.
