Look at the shaft seals on the output shaft where the tines are attached. If it's wet then the oil came from the gear box.

SOURCE: how do u change the oil in honda fg110 tiller

The simple way is to take a oil pan and lift the tiller with the plug removed and drain it out while holding over the pan. Dispose of oil properly. I have an older model that does not have an oil drain plug.

Park the Honda Foreman on flat ground and leave the engine running for 5 minutes to allow the engine to warm up. Place the oil drain pan under the crank case drain plug. Turn the engine off.

    • 2
Remove the drain plug from the under side of the crank case using the ratchet set. Allow the engine oil to drain into the oil pan. Replace the plug to the bottom of the crank case and tighten the plug using the ratchet set.

Remove the small screw from the side of the crank case using the Allen wrench. Remove the cap labeled "OIL" from the top of the crank case. Insert the funnel into the hole where the oil cap was.

    • 4
Pour Honda 4-stroke engine oil into the funnel until the oil starts to come out of the hole where the small screw was on the side of the crank case. Once the oil starts to come out of the hole, stop pouring and replace the screw. Remove the funnel and replace the oil cap to the top of the crank case.

Engine shuts off when rolling the throttle

They could be related - but what you need to do is first clean out the oil that has collected in the air filter housing - and replace the air filter. Then, clean the oil from the engine - Simple Green and an old tooth brush works great for this. Wash the engine and surrounding areas with soap and water.
Now, with things cleaned off, you'll be able to tell where the oil is coming from after a short test ride. It could be that the oil you saw near the head gasket was actually running from the air box. Hopefully, a new air filter will cure the problems you had with low power and poor throttle response.

Have a 1999 Z71 chev truck with 5.3 L engine that has fluctuating oil pressure. Started with low oil pressure after start with engine clak that disappeared after it warmed up. Changed oil and found sludge...

In some cases where the oil is not changed properly, the oil pump screen maybe plugging or your oil filter is defective. Fram is a good filter. If there is no problem found, replace the pressure sensor.
