Never ever bypass lid switch. Legal liability forever. Any future owner of machine has 2 years from the day they discover bypass to sue the crud out of you for injuries. Not worth it for cheap lid switch. Do it right. If you discover bypassed lid switch on customers machine, fix it or leave machine inoperable.

Yes. You need to determine if the switch is normally open contact or closed contact after which you bypass it. The hard bit is probably finding a spot where you can get at the wires to by-pass the switch. If you can find this spot, remove the wired, place an ohm meter across the switch and open and close the lid a few times. I suspect you will get a reading when the lid is closed, meaning you just join the wires together to bypass the lid.

Bypass LG WF-T9250PP lid switch

Before bypassing the lid switch, check whether the magnet on the lid is OK. The reed switch is under the cover adjacent to the position of the magnet when the lid is closed.

How to bypass lid lock control on kenmore elite oasis type 581 washer model 110.28032701

there isn't any way to bypass this type of lid switch as in the old 2 wire type lid switches,as the 5 wire type lid switch you have has to be connected to the control board located behind the control panel,it has to see the lid is closed and sends a magnetic signal to the control board to start the wash cycle

Whirlpool washer doesn't spin or empty. Could the lid switch cause both issues

Yes , you have a bad lid switch . You can bypass the lid switch , which will cause the washer to spin and drain with the lid open ( after you raise the console ) , but if you have kids in the house , it would not be adviseable to bypass .

Won't Spin

Sounds like a bad lid switch. Test my solution test by bypassing the lid switch. If the machine spins after bypassing the lid switch, replace the switch. Remember, this is a safety switch and needs to be on the machine.
