Control is locked. I can not get any button to work on the microwave.

Many microwaves have children locks. Of course they are for safety reasons. they are for tricking the little kids from playing with the big people toys.

Process A

To Turn the Control Lockout Feature On or Off:

1. Make sure the microwave oven and timer are off.
2. Press and hold the CANCEL keypad for 3 seconds.
3. 2 tones will sound and "LOC" or a padlock icon will be displayed (indicating the control is LOCKED).
4. Repeat to unlock. Again, 2 tones will sound.

Process B

To Turn the Control Lockout Feature On or Off:

1. Make sure the microwave oven and timer are off.
2. Press and hold the START keypad for 5 seconds.
3. 2 tones will sound and "L" will be displayed (indicating the control is LOCKED)
4. Repeat to unlock. Again, 2 tones will sound.

Cancel button beeps others don't sounds like a bad keypad

I don't know of anyway to repair the keypad. Usually replacement (of the keypad/control console) is the only option. But you might want to remove the ribbon cable that connects the keypad to the control board behind it, clean it with a degreaser (like Fantastic or 409), dry it, and re-insert it, and then try again. (Remember to unplug the microwave oven first before you try that!)

This is a built in safety feature called "Child Lock-Out" that allows you to lock or unlock the control panel to keep small children from manipulating the controls.

To lock/unlock, simply press and hold the CLEAR OFF button for 3 seconds.

Locking or Unlocking the oven control panel
1. Access Select Function Menu
2. Turn knob clockwise until Lock Keys is flashing
3.Touch Start. Key Pad locked is displayed.

4. To unlock keypads, touch cooking mode and hold for 5 seconds. Display will read unlocking key pad

5. When unlocked the clock will again appear in the display.

To lock or unlock the keypad, press and hold the CLEAR pad for 5 seconds. If this recurs, you may have a power line problem or trouble with your controller.
