This only happens occasionally. And when the oven won't light, I can still get the broiler to come on. For example, I had the oven on fine this morning, but when I went to relight the oven this afternoon, I could just hear the gas come on, then 3 ticks, then it stops, then tries the sequence again a minute later.

If this is a gas unit then it could be caused by a gas/air ratio mixture problem, advise you get a qualified engineer to call, this could be potetially dangerous if you get a gas build up. Regards Engineer
SOURCE: Oven not lighting
Hi The gas valve will not open until the ignitor pulls enough amps around 3.2 . so from the infromation you wroke you may need a new ignitor..let me know what you can find out..

If you can smell the gas when you turn on the oven, it may be on a separate igniter that has gone bad. I would check this first. If you are not getting gas to the oven, there is possibly an issue with the supply line.

Sounds like an ignitor problem or possibly a dirty orifice. Model #'s are usually on the frame behind the bottom drawer.

Sounds like the oven ignitor is weak. If everything else is working it must be a bad ignitor. These are usually easy to replace and can expect to pay $70-$100 for the part. Check to see if it glows when in bake mode first. If it does then replace the ignitor. You can look at the ignitor, when not on, if it is white-ish then it needs replace or if it doesn't have a full glow, can compare to broil ignitor, then it needs replaced. Let me know if you have further questions.
