Contact sony and ask for a new remote, they always have stocks for head unit remotes... these remote controls are usually disposable... if you don't want to buy a new one.. just take your remote to the nearest electronic shack and have it repaired.

More than likely it's a switch or sensor input to the vehicle BCM - body control module that is the problem, not computer problem an reset won't do anything. Your best might be to have a qualified repair shop check it.
definitely need more information like year make model engine --old battery etc --with many vehicles the key will not come out with a dead battery --remote start also doesnt work with dead battery
Check to make sure the unit installed is not in VALET MODE, then check the battery in your keyless remote, most of the time that battery has gone dead. it should snap apart or unscrew and will require a large watch type battery in most cases
Changing the battery in the remote won't affect the programming, and neither should a dead car battery. I am surprised there is no keyed entry on the driver's door.
