If the incoming water is very cold it takes longer to heat
this extends the cycle length

are the holes that spray out the water partially blocked? if so the water will spray out at every angle filling all the tray slots. try popping out the soap tray and cleaning above it with a stiff washing up brush and then reducing the water pressure by turning the tap off a bit.

Your washer may be doing this because you use far too much detergent or non HE detergent. To solve, use 1 eyedropperfull of liquid HE detergent, or one half teaspoon of powdered HE detergent dissolved in extremely hot water. Try running a Basketclean cycle with vinegar to remove the extra suds which can STILL be lurking in your drums and lengthening your rinsing time.

SOURCE: It is taking much too

Hi, if your washer pumps out the water but stuck in rinse/spin cycle, check these:

The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

The motor coupler may be broken. Many Whirlpool®-manufactured washers use a small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace it.

A belt may be broken. Many washing machines have one or two belts. If a belt is broken or badly worn, you need to replace it with a genuine belt from the manufacturer. (Some washing machine belts are designed with special characteristics not found in automotive belts.)

The clutch may be worn. If your washer is a GE, it may use a clutch to come up to the proper spin speed. As the clutch wears out, it may prevent the unit from spinning well or at all. If the clutch is worn, you need to replace it. For this job, you probably want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician.

The drive motor may be defective. Many washer brands use a reversing motor. For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor.

The transmission may not be shifting properly. Older washers produced by Whirlpool® have a transmission with an electro-mechanical shifter. If the shifter becomes even partially defective, the unit may drain the water but not spin. This is a complex system, if your washer has a shifter problem, you may want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician to repair it.

The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Hope this helps.....

SOURCE: Our machine works fine, but the water just trckles

look at the hoses coming out of the back of the machine and you should see that they are attatched to a water tap with a knob that turns one way or another.. Turn your water taps to full open. If you find that this causes the watyer to stop flowing all together, then turn the taps all the way the opposite way. There should be two taps... one for each hose that goes into the back of the washer... one is hot water, and the other is the cold water.... If the issue you describe is only happenning with the rinse cycle, then I guarantee that the issue is with just the cold water tap being only half open, or quater open. Some people who only wash in warm water, will try to set the temp, by turning on the hot water full and turning the cold water down, to increase the temperature in the wash tub, but this prevents the cold water from flowing in the rinse cycle, causing the problem you describe.

Beko DVS04020S programmes taking longer than should, also weird smell of hot plastic from the top .

Definitely call, burned plastic is not normal. Just be certain that it is nothing that you accidentally stuck in the dishwasher. Also check around the bottom by the heaters so that nothing is melted to them...

Bosch classixx 1200 express sticking on 1 minute. Not heating water,so extending run cycle.Have checked ntc and heater, both ok. Does the wiring from heater element go to pressure switch?

Add water to increase water height, and hence increase the pressure to the pressure switch, if it's not blocked with soap debris it should tell the programmer that it has water, and allow the heater to turn on.

The washing machine is taking longer time

You can check that pump filter which is behind the base plinth, also check that the water entering the machine is at a reasonable pressure. If the machine is taking a longer time to wash and both inlet and the outlet of water is ok, it is more than likely a wash side heater fault. Basically, you set, for example. a 40 degree cycle, the heater does not operate and the water never reaches the required temp, the machine ventually times out on the heat phase and then moves on to the rinses or aborts to the end of the cycle.

Our aquarius wml940 washing machine will not go through with a cycle properly...2 plumbers have checked that water is being pumped through ok..When we put it on the usual cycle we use it just freezes after...

Hmmm, hard to know but if it's filling and agitating and the pump is pumping the water out ok then I would suspect that the heater is not heating the water and it is waiting to be heated. It should come up with an error code, but that might take a while. Gut intuition...heater.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

It takes way too long to go through the whole cycle. it says initially that it will only go for 50 minutes, but then takes over 2 hours!

it could b e that you have a themostat problem heater not heating water property hence takes longer, it could also be somthing silly like a crimp in the water inlet pipe restricting flow , faulty inlet selanoid, check to see how long it takes to fill machine , the machine could be genraly blocked watyer pump not evacuating water fast enough blockage in the out let pipe anything that restricts the flow of water in or out can add time to your wash
