Question about FocalPrice 7" Pillow TFT LCD Color Car Monitor Black

1 Answer

How do you hook up a Pillow TFT LCD Color Monitor for a car back-up system? There was no manual with the product,only a page listing the function keys. Bill P.

I assumed the red wire is for the 12 volt lead and the black wire is the ground. What is the blue wire for? Also, there are two red leads and two black leads, which appear to be on the same circuit; should both sets of leads be hooked up?

I was given a battery charger that my friend dogs chewed the plug and leads from i want to know which side should the red and black leads go on .

I assume you mean the plug that goes into the 120VAC receptacle in the wall? and when you say leads, I assume you mean the leads that go to the battery. the leads are of course red/Positive Black/negative. generally the plug to the wall would not have black and red wires. it would normally be Black/hot, white/neutral, and green/ground.

if it has European colors for the 120VAC plug in the wall then it would be Brown/hot, Blue/neutral, and green/ground. (sometimes it may be green with yellow stripes or something like that)

How to install KDC-252U in a 2000 Toyota Tacoma two-door

Check the fuse box in the engine compartment and look for the interior illumination fuse. Before you replace it you will need to unplug the radio harness and check the new unit's memory lead, the switched 12 volt lead, and the Ground wire. Somewhere one or two of these have been either connected incorrectly or the wires were pinched when the dash was reassembled.

Also check the fuse in the new unit's harness and make sure it is ok. Here are the basic power wires in the Tacoma...yellow is 12v constant, red is accessory (turns on with key),and black is ground.
If there is a blue wire, it needs 12 volts when the car is running and the radio is turned on. Check your new unit's wiring diagram for the power antenna or amplifier turn-on lead and connect that to the blue wire.
Good luck

The power supply came with no manual. There is no P IV power lead. There are two aux power leads. (1) four wire (O,B,R,Y) and (1) six wire lead (B,Y,B,Y,B,Y) The original power supply P IV lead has four...

As you've noted you need two Black wires (Ground), and two Yellow wires (12 Volt),
for a 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atx12v4

If you are not using the 6-pin PCI Express power cable,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#pciexpress

,rob the 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable connector, and wires from the old power supply.

Splice the wires of the 6-pin PCI Express to them.

Note:
Orange wires are 3.3 Volt
Red wires are 5 Volt
Yellow wires are 12 Volt
Black wires are Ground wires.

You need two Yellow wires, and two Black wires.

Or if you have a spare 4-pin standard Peripheral power cable from the power supply,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#peripheral

,buy and use an adapter power cable.

Wont turn on i bought it though craigslist

well this is what you do to check it to see if you bought a blown amp.
wire it into your car and then take a digital volt meter check to see if you have power and ground and remote turn on .

take the red lead and put it on the battery wire at amp and the black lead to the ground then see if you get 12volt to 14.4 use the amps ground for the black test lead if nothing you may have blown fuse or bad ground.

check the remote wire same way as about if you get 12 to 14.4 volt it works if not could be blown from radio or bad ground

checking the ground put the black meter lead on ground wire and the red lead on 12 volt power source if nothing a bad ground.

if your get voltage on the remote wire and battery wire and have good ground then you need to call the seller and get your money back ..

grey=right front pos.
grey/black=right front neg.
white=left front pos.
white/black=left front neg.
violet=right rear pos.
violet/black=right rear neg.
green=left rear pos.
green/black=left rear neg.
red=12 volt switched power source
yellow=12 volt constant power source (direct to battery)
black=chassis ground
orange/white=illumination (switched source,not to head light switch)
blue/white=amp turn on lead (to remote turn on lead of amp)
blue=auto antenna (switched power source)
brown=phone mute lead (to cell phone mute lead)
RCA connector leads:
grey lead:
red=right front
white=left front
black lead:
red=right rear/right rear subwoofer
white=left rear/left rear subwoofer
(connect to external amp)
red lead:
red=right aux input
white=left aux input
(connect to external unit)
green lead:
red=right dual zone output
white=left dual zone output
(connect to wireless head phones)
That should be all there is. on the yellow that goes direct to the battery you need to use an inline fuse holder with 30 amp fuse.

When my computer starts the power light will blink and the fan starts. When the computer first had problems it froze and the fan turned on and wouldnt stop. I also smelt a burnt rubber smell. I read to...

Yes the voltmeter measures the voltage.
When you power up the computer to test the voltage on the 4 wire connectors.
Test the voltage red and balck wire should read 5 volts.
Test the voltage yellow an black wire should read 12 volts
If the burning smell is from the power supply then most likely a capacitor has blown in the switch mode power supply.
I would advise you purchase a new power supply, do not try and repair it, these mains devices can be dangerous if you don't have knowledge.

I need to know which wires go into which transformer lead there is a red wire and grey connected together then orange and black together then yellow and black together then black comming from air...

first find out your voltage..240 or 208...then it is 2(two) wires high voltage and ground. Both high voltage should go to transformer one on common lead another to 240 or 208 lead( if you have up to 218 use 208 lead...), transformer ground it self so don't worry about ground. other side of trasformer got 2 wires it will be your 24 volts..normaly it is blue and red( ruud-rheam-goodman red and grey, carrier red and brown)...if you need to know how to "hook it up" low voltage let me [email protected]

I was wondering which wires are which to hook up an after market stereo in my 1991 plymouth laser. i need to know what are the power wires and the speaker wires on my stock wire harness.

I don't have the exact wire pinout, but I can offer you a generic method. Usually wires in an automotive wire harness that are Red, are power.
I would suggest you buy a cheap multimeter, (If you don't already have one), and set it to the DC volts-50 volt range. They have multimeter's that are relatively inexpensive. $10 or $12 dollars.

There will be a Red lead to a probe, (Positive), and a Black lead to a probe. (Negative) Hold the Red lead to the red wire. Touch the Black lead to any good ground. Any clean of paint, metal surface on the car. The needle should go up to 12 volts on the DC scale.

Ground wires are generally Black or Green. Should you see a Green wire with a stripe on it, this is not a ground wire.

Wires that are of a solid color and have a stripe on them, are usually speaker wires. They will be in pairs. There should be a wire of a solid color with a stripe on it, and a wire of the same color, but no stripe, to make up one pair. One pair is for one speaker. For example:
Blue color wire with a White stripe, and a solid Blue color wire.

There may be two pairs of wires, or four pairs. Two speakers in front, two speakers in back, for the four pairs of wires.
After you find the power wire, and have it attached to the stereo, plus a ground wire, I suggest you make sure ALL the other wire ends are not touching each other, on the stereo. Put a small piece of Black electrical tape on them.
Take one pair of speaker wires, from the car harness, and attach them to the stereo. Turn the stereo on, and see which speaker wires you have. Move the Front/Back, and Left/Right controls.
Now it's just a matter of finding out the correct hook ups for those wires. Match them up.
