It is not your computer that needs drivers, it is the hardware you need to connect to the operating system that needs a driver. From Windows 7 and up, Microsoft only allows drivers, if the manufacturer asked for certification and the hardware and driver work conform Microsofts demands. When the hardware and driver is certified the driver is also on the Microsoft website. Most of the time if you use new hardware the operating system goes to Microsoft to see if there is a correct driver and then installs the driver.

For older hardware, only few manufactures make drivers and ask certification. Most manufactures only develop drivers for their new hardware. So for older hardware there are only a few drivers. If Microsoft can't deliver drivers, or the manufacturer from the hardware can't, you are lost. The devices won't work with the new operating system. Nobody told you that before upgrading. Since I upgraded to win 7 I could not use several expensive things I was used to, because the firms don't like to make a driver fr the hardware they don't sell anymore.

SOURCE: My C3030 digital Camera won't work w/Windows XP

The C3000(which I have) and C3030 are not directly supported by any version of Windows. You must either use the Camedia software to access the camera(via USB connection) or use an external Smartmedia card reader like a ZIO(I have one, it works great). Camedia 2.0 will work(with XP) but it will not allow you to select more than one picture at a time to download from the camera. I have heard that Camedia 2.5 fixes this problem with XP and it is available for purchase from the Olympus website. I decided to get the card reader instead of the new version of Camedia because I use Photoshop to do my editing. I believe only the latest Oly cameras(like the 3020) have direct support under XP. By this I mean when you connect the camera to the PC it shows up as a new drive letter. Hope this helps.

How to download audio software

The above is a link from CNET where you can download Audacity. Audacity can create and manipulate sound files. Here is something to supplement its help files?

Other "audio editing" software:

There are also programs which convert one audio file format to another. Here is one that handles video as well: Freemake Video Converter

I am presuming you are not querying how to download audio drivers for sound cards. Those you would best download from the sound card manufacturer's site. A little freeware program called Speccy can identify your sound card. Then you Google the manufacturer's site and search there.

Can't hear audio while playing or recording from my Numark to Audacity yet I can hear the audio when the transfer to Audacity is complete.

You will have got the audio muted in your windows recording mode. If you right click on your speaker icon it will say recording devices. Click that and you will be able to see all the devices and if they are activated.

Hello, I have recently purchased an Olympus Digital Camera u-5010 and the photos I have taken all seem to be out of focus. Also there was no CD enclosed for the software and my camera refuses to talk to...

Hi Helen,

I too have recently purchased the same camera and mine isnt 'talking' to my PC either. First I was told that the software was internal and upon taking it back I am now told to download the driver - of which I cant locate even on the Olympus website. I am still waiting on Olympus to get back to me. Have you found a solution as yet?

Want to connect to pc but have lost software disc is there any way i can connect camera to pc

if you have lost the cable you can get a memory card adaptor which will alow you to put the camera's memory card in it and plug it into a pc usb port, then windows picture import should import the images for you. if you still have the cable then windows picture import will import for you also. If it doesnt come up when you connect, try enabling autoplay on the drive when connected to the pc.

Need to cnveert wav voice recordings to mp3 om sansa view

Have you tried Audacity? It's free opensource sound editing software. Search Google for it or try downloading it at audacity dot sourceforge dot net. (You do have to install an mp3 encoder! but those are also free, and the Audacity site tells how to do this), Then you just import your wav file, and export it as an mp3

Olympus VN-2100PC exported files

The only way I have found to convert the files is to use Nero or ITunes. Those are the only two methods I've found to read the file. ITunes can both burn them to an audio cd and convert the file to mp3.
