Look on Ebay. It will not be available new anymore. I might have it as well for a cost. Visit audioserviceclinic.com. Contact me there.

CHECK CONNECTIONS AT THE BASE OF THE READ HEADS AS THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO CRACK OVER A PERIOD OF USE. CAREFULLY STRIP BACK AND RESOLDER, REMEMBER TO LEAVE SOME SLACK AS THE HEADS REVOLVE ON TAPE REVERSAL.

SOURCE: RS-dc10 DCC replacement head

You should contact Panasonic, or Matsuchita. They can most likely give you their authorised parts dealer. You may find the head to be a little expensive.

You will have to have an experienced tech install the head for you. He will have to do a tape path alignment with the frequency response calibration.

SOURCE: Technics RS-TR373 is chewing tapes

A lot of tape chewing problems are caused by the capstan roller being worn. Check for wear or oxide on that first.

SOURCE: I need to know how to record 1 tape onto another

press the synchro start button, the tape deck should now go to REC PAUSE, press the SPEED button till you get the required recording speed then press the synchro start again and it should start to record from deck 1 to deck 2.

make sure the tabs at the top of the tape you want to record on are intact,
if not just put a bit of sticky tape over holes.

hope this helps?

How to replace the capstan belt on a Technics RS-M63 ?

Get the service manual and look at the mechanical drawings of where the belt goes. Most seasoned Technicians just go in and do it. A beginner will have to be more cautious. There are other things in the deck that also need attention like parts oiled and other idlers replaced.
Some Technics decks were ever made to be repaired.

Finding a Microcontroller for a Technics Tape Deck

I am sure there is one available or suitable sub . I wonder if technics would provide more information if you contacted them or a local electronics store.
A microcontroller may or may not be programmed for a specific purpose so, that also may be an issue if not purchesd froma source used for that device.

There is also a forum called tapeheads:

I can't find the manual to my Technics RS-TR272 Stereo Cassette Deck. How do you tape something on one cassette to another?

Place the tape you want to record into the left deck, Then the blank tape into the right deck. Press play on the left deck and record on the right deck.

It may be opposite depending on which side your recording deck is on.

Which ever deck has record, place blank cassette into that one and the cassette you want to copy into the other deck.

Hope this helps and please rate thanks

Help

Just connect you EQ to your receiver as if it were a tape deck: EQ's outs connect to receiver's tape ins (play) and EQ's ins connect to receiver's tape outs (record).

Then you hook the tape deck up to the tape ins and outs on the EQ: Tape deck outs connect to EQ's tape ins (play) and tape deck ins connect to EQ's tape outs (record).

This will put the EQ in your receiver's tape loop. To hear the EQed signal with all receiver sources you'll need to engage the 'Tape Monitor' button or switch which will route the tape loop to the speakers.

Technics RS-TR272 dual cassette deck

Ahh, Another Dual cassette deck. These are typically not worth a repair charge. I went looking for a service manual but Hi Fi Engine did not have one but they had a Owners Manual. Any unit that has a specification as to wow and flutter starting new at .18% was never made to be a long lasting deck of any quality. I don't like to be negative about people equipment but you might be better off getting a better deck from the start. If you think it is worth the repair, then send it to someone but I don't think you will want to sink $100 into a unit like this.
I am not saying it is unrepairable but that with what you come out in the end you could have made a better choice for a deck to buy.
It is probably a bad solder joint or bad capacitor on the circuit board.
I am in Chicago and would look at it for you if you want.
