The Network Security Key is possibly the same pw as the network you are attaching to. This device can be configured in so many different ways.
If you can't figure it out then use the reset button on the back or use paper clip in reset hole.

To set up and configure your AirPort Extreme to use AirPort for wireless networking and Internet access, use the setup assistant in AirPort Utility.
The manual may be of some help... Available here

Good Luck

What is the network equivalant key and where can I find it?

The network equivalent key is a terminology used by Apple and its router type called Airport Extreme to identify the WiFi security password in a different way.

The D-Link DI-604 is a router without wireless (WiFi) capability and therefore there is not security key at all.

Please let me know if you need more details

Best regards

If your network is being created by an Apple AirPort base station, use AirPort Utility to put the base station into "manual setup" mode, then pull down the "Base Station" menu and select "Equivalent Network Password". Try the value shown there.

My PC won't connect to my apple airport. My roommates macs do. On the PC it shows full signal strength, but won't connect.

Be careful of the password, change it to one with 13 charactors, less than this the computer auto fills to make up and macs use a different default character to some others

Using your wired computer, you need to access the router's setup page by going to your internet browser and type http://10.0.1.1 and press enter, you can see the wireless network key under the wireless tab or wireless security tab

Network key

Hi gamejunky,
in order to get your WPA key on your router you will need to access your internal router configuration.  To do this you will need first your default gateway IP address, that is your IP address of your router.
If you are not sure what it is you will have to check your network settings, and under TCP/IP look for Default Gateway.
Once you have the IP enter it into your web browser address bar and hit enter.  You will then be prompted for a login to your router which should be default unless you set it.  The default is usually "default" or "admin" or "password" or some variation.
After this you should browse to your router security settings section and under WPA enter in a shared key.  Write it down somewhere safe, and you are done!
Hope this helps, and please take the time to vote!

Login to your airport express using Apple's airport utilities (either in it's current configuration or after resetting it).

Using the airport utility do not choose manual setup, just select continue.

Adjust (as required) the airport express station name and password and select continue.

Select "I have a wireless network and I want to add AirPort Express or replace an existing device on my network and select continue.

Select I want Airport Express to wireless join my current network and select continue.

Choose if you want to extent the rance of your network or just join the network and select continue.

Choose the network you wish to join... etc etc etc....

You should be fine.

Apple Airport Express not working

You need to use the AirPort utility, which will walk through the setup and configuration of it. You were already on the right track to get it going. If it mentions there is an update available for it, though, do the update first.
