My spect ratio keeps changing form one to another constantly
It could be both.
If you set your TV to Auto, then it will try to 'best guess' the correct picture shape based on what's displayed on screen. That's okay in the lab, but in the real world where there's too much changing then it's not so good.
The other thing could be the box and the TV channel you happen to be watching. If you have the box's aspect ratio set wrong i.e. to a different picture shape to the TV, then it will squash or stretch pictures.
Set your box to match the TV shape. The two main choices are Widescreen (16:9) or the old picture shape 4:3
Set your TV on a fixed aspect ratio: Either Widescreen if it is a 16:9 set, or Normal if it is a 4:3 set.

My 42" Westinghouse HDMI inputs just stopped working. I thought it was the TW Explorer 4250HDC issue so I got a new one from TW. Still said no signal from HDMI. So, I shut the TV down and pulled the power cord out of the back. I waited a few seconds and reconnected the pwr cord. The TV "re-booted" so to say and now the HDMI inputs work. I think TVTEK has the right idea that it is firmware/software related. In the mean time, you might want to give that a try.

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.

I have an LG LCD TV with the same problem.
The solution is to go to
MENU
OPTIONS
FACTORY RESET
And select HOME rather than STORE on initial setup.
Mine was set to store as it was a display model.
That means that whatever picture setting you make they will reset after 10 minutes.

Yes, it is possible the settings from your cable box maybe set to the wrong ratio eg:letterbox. Depending on what type of box you have, look in the cable box menu for a settings option, then change the aspect ratio to a different format.
