Freezer leaking on Kitchen Floor

Recently I have found that under the bottom shelf there is a considerable build-up of Ice, so much that I have to clear it out in order to be able to open and close the drawer. I find that it is also leaking water out of the bottom left side of the freezer unit.

The pipe which is located at the back of the fridge/ freezer may be blocked or hanging outside of the designated collection chamber designed for this purpose. Unplug from the mains and pull the appliance away from the wall so you can see and get to the back of it. At the back of it you will see a pipe coming out from the bottom of the cooling fins and will go down and the end of it will be sitting inside a shallow plastic collection unit - not covered but open. Itusually is sitting on top of the condenser unit. (this is a large sealed metal structure whic has pipes coming out of it and is the largest item in that area at the back bottom end of appliance). If there is some liquid in it then either move the pipe end into the dry area or emty it out. Sometimes there isnt a collection chamber but the pipe just drips onto the condenser and evaporates - usually on self defrosting certain brand named products but dont know much about that. Use a pipe cleaner to clear out the pipes from inside the fridge out toward the back using that pipe. the drainage hole is inside the fridge at the back and may have some sort of cover or plug in it. remove that and clean it and use the wire or pipe cleaner to shove doen the hold and clear the entrance and exit. Test pipe functionability by pouring a small ammount of water down the drain hole and see it coming out of the back via pipe. If still leaking make sure the vent areas in the back of fridge and freezr are not covered expecially in the self defrosting models. basically dont overload the fridge or freezer coz this causes blocked vents, difficulty derfosting on self defrosters, water builds up and gets out via the tube as it should, but more water than can be evaporated will cause puddles on the floor

Ice forming on bottom of freezer with water leaking out from under

I'm guessing the drain from the freezer defrost pan (below the freezer coil) is clogged and overflowing into the bottom of the box. You'll have to turn off an defrost the freezer, then remove the sheet metal on the back to expose the coil. Try pouring some water into the drain pan and if it backs up, use a fine wire like a sewer snake to clean it out.

Water leak on floor

Typically on this model the drain hole Under the evaporator cover gets clogged. Remove the cover off the rear of the refrigerator and pour hot water into the drain until it goes down quickly. To remove the cover u will have to remove all the freezer shelves and the icemaker. Remove the covers screw and u should see that at the bottom u will have a block of ice down below. The refer goes onto defrost every couple days and will leak the melted ice onto the floor

Leaking water and ice build-up in freezer

There's a drain hole in the freezer side behind the bottom drawer in the back wall that must be clogh ; put hot water into it untill melted the ice and keep pouring water to clean the drain (don't worry , the water goes to an evaporative tray) .Keep the drain clean by putting every 3/4 months half a cup of clorox or bleach.

Ice Build Up in Freezer of FRS26ZSH

I had this problem. You need to clean out the drain under the freezer. The tech that came out used a squeezie bulb similar to what you use for a baby to clean their nose when clogged. You have to remove all the shelf's and the back plate. You need to use warm water to defrost the frozen ice and remove. use water and squeeze into the hole and **** out.. takes 10 minutes.. finally it will drain.. no parts are necessary. good `luck

Ice build up on bottom of freezer. Water leaks out of freezer possibly from melting. Water leaks onto floor of kitchen.

Your problem is possibly one of two things. The ice maker is leaking or the defrost tray behind the rear panel inside freezer back wall is clogged with ice or something else. If you know its not the ice maker unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel to see if the drain is blocked there, Let me know, Sea Breeze

Water gushed out freezer door, possible solenoid problem?

The drain is clogged. The drain is usually located inside the freezer on the bottom shelf to the rear. Use a meat baster and a solution of 1 tsp. baking soda and 2 cups of hot water-not boiling to unclog the drain. You probably also have about 1/2 inch of ice build-up on the bottom shelf. This will have to be removed first.

Kenmore refrigerator model 46-66812 ice build up on the bottom shelf of freezer

Had the same problem. I noticed that the fan in the freezer never shut off so I suspected the thermostat. I ordered and installed a new thermostat (about $30 and 15 minutes to install), the fan now cycles correctly and the ice build up is gone.

Water leaking onto floor

unplug it again , sounds like your drain line has frozen, instaead of defrost water going down the tube and under refrig in drain pan, becuse tube is frozen its draining into freezer compartment and eventually spilling out through front of unit. totally defrost unit and behind back wall of freezer youll see a metal trough designed to catch water, in the center (under the ice is gonna be the drain hole, pour boiling water down until it runs freely
